Guest guest
Thanks Dee – you have so much knowledge – although it doesn’t help my situation – I enjoy reading what you have to say on different vulvar subjects. Just a general question – in case anyone is reading this – does anyone have any suggestion on what is the best thing to use for pain, but no outward sore appearances on the perineum area? nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Dee Troll Sent: Friday, May 23, 2008 12:11 AM To: VulvarDisorders Subject: Re: DEE/estosterone received, (Snailsgal) HI nne, I don't think the T. takes away pain.. to be honest with you none of the hormone meds really do that (the E or T) but both help get the tissue healthier, give it back it's elasticity, helps those cuts, splits, tears, fissures etc... and so there eventually is no or less pain. Mainly the T helps restore lost or deficient E 'receptors' in the genital skin so they can work again and do their job. But I think you're asking if the skin looks healthy and completely normal etc.. would the E & T work? Who knows? I would suspect that is more the case with those who have the radiating pain say from pelvic floor dysfunctions, not to where there is actual tissue damage. That's my guess though. Although I do know Dr. Vliet says that the estrogen helps those pain receptors to feel less pain too... so maybe it'd help, but I honestly don't know if the tissue is really good & healthy to begin with if it would or not. But I know too that it's easy to 'look' or appear normal, like the time my doctor said I 'looked' fine and tried to make me think it was in my head. *GROAN* ... but when I got home & sat on the floor with the bare bulbed lamp, a flashlight, and strong magnifying mirror (and my leg wrapped around my neck and me rolling over, LOL) then I could visibly see the gazillion of tiny razor cut slits as tho it had split apart in the skin but to the naked eye there was nothing you could see. That's when I went back to him and told him to pull over his colposcope and have a good look, and sure enough 'then' he could see it and apologized. *sigh* With me the 'issue was the tissue' Hugs Dee ~ ----- Original Message ----- From: millburytimes To: VulvarDisorders Sent: Thursday, May 22, 2008 10:08 PM Subject: DEE/estosterone received, (Snailsgal) Dee – Does the “T” take away pain if the tissues look normal? Or is it just to help heal vaginal tissues? nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Dee Troll Sent: Wednesday, May 21, 2008 9:45 PM To: VulvarDisorders Subject: Testosterone received, (Snailsgal) HI Snailsgal... SO glad you were able to get the Testosterone hon.... usually it comes in an ointment form as standard procedure...called Testosterone propionate 2%, and the 2% strength is the typical too. T. has to be compounded so the pharmacist if they are good can use a variety of bases... like Pete at Bellevue uses the Liquigel as his base. Some might use the Emu oil too and like Hollis said Pete keeps it in his stock of standard supplies now to use because of her. *smile*... It should really help as it restores the E (estradiol) ''receptors'' which often are defunct or deficient...AND used 'along with' the Estrace or compounded estradiol. It should really help hon. The two work so well together in a synergistic relationship . I only used the T 'topically' and just a small peasize, approx 3 X's a week to the E. cream once a night. In other words on the 3rd night I'd add the T right on top and massage both in. (that gentle massaging in for both is so important so don't forget that). It took a while but when I added the T. (previously I only tried the E alone for 4 months) but adding the T was the icing on the cake & put 'me' over the edge to full wellness hon. Good luck and hang in there hon. I think and hope you're on your way... *big smile* Also just to say that once you are better and doing great... a maintenance should be continued.. Mine is both E & T twice a week ... sometimes once a week and it definitely has kept me well now for years.
