Guest guest
I just found out that is is self-funded but it does cover ABA therapy but finding a participating provider is a different story. I wonder if there is a list of companies in FL who have fully-funded insurance? Thanks Jayne! Autism insurance ; The HR person at your husband's job would know if it's a self insured plan. Guest guest
, Here's a link with a list of companies who are self-funded but have still chosen to cover therapies for their employees. http://www.autismvotes.org/site/c.frKNI3PCImE/b.5216011/k.1245/Selfinsured_Compa\ nies_and_Autism_Coverage.htm As far as which companies are fully-funded, I haven't seen a list, but you can always ask about insurance benefits before even interviewing. My husband would get referred to the companies HR person, even before accepting to go on an interview. Guest guest
The participating provider will be a provider your insurance company has designated as one of their providers. In other words your insurance company would have approved providers. If not, then it sounds like you have to find one and the insurance company has to approve the provider. Guest guest
, Another thing: we just found out that apparently there is a Federal Mandate for autism insurance that is just now going into effect. Federal mandates override state mandates. So when my plan gets renewed next month we will be receiving unlimited therapy coverage as opposed to the cap of 36k. The criteria for the federal mandate are similar to the state mandate as far as fully funded and bigger group policies (not sure though). I know of one family who got approval for it last month already. Google " federal autism mandate " and its the first item its PDF.
