Guest guest
Judy, I had trigger point injections all around the vagina and in the perineum area. I would point to a specific spot and she would push the needle in. Although the whole area hurts really bad, so it didn’t make much difference where she put the injections. I have to say they really helped for a month. I was suppose to go back for follow up injections, but I had to reschedule and it took awhile to get another appointment. Now, I am in really bad shape again. The doctor told me I would have to come back at regular monthly intervals and she was right. Believe me, I don’t have the appointment for another three weeks to get more, but I have not going to let that happen again. My advice is if that is where you are going to get the injections is to follow up with them once a month for at least six months. I am even considering Botox in that area because I have read very good results. To deaden the pain signals, you just have to keep repeating the injections. If you have any pain meds or Valium, it doesn’t hurt to take them before the injections as they can be painful and the meds help quite a lot. It sounds like you could see a pain management doctor also, to make you life more bearable, as this is a tough condition to get under control. I can’t walk either so I know what you are going through. Hang in there; it will get better if you work at it. Also get some numbing cream – that helps a lot. Ask your doctor for a prescription for Lidocaine 5%, and there is another one, that I can’t remember the name of, but I posted it a week or so back, that is suppose to completely make the whole area numb. nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of jselbridge Sent: Friday, May 23, 2008 6:16 PM To: VulvarDisorders Subject: Re: damage from steroid and ketoconazole creams -Hi, I was reading through some of the past posts and these stories sound very very similiar to me. I have written before but these put it exactly! Has anyone been able to actually clear up the raw burning skin? I haven't been able to use anything on the skin because it seems to make it worse. I am on 600mg Lyrica, 100mg Tramadol and an antidepressant. I am scheduled for a nerve block on June 6th. I am going to the doctors and doing exactly what they say, but I still have this awful red, raw, burning skin. I can't even get out of the house to walk at all. I have tried to do this, but I end up in so much pain while out that I just can't. On the other hand I have two daughters, one who is going to the Junior Pronm next week, who would like to have her mother to help. I have a wonderful husband of twenty years who helps a lot, but sometimes they need their mother. I am missing out on so much I just want to cry all the time. This problem came up last November so everyone has had to adjust. I just feel like I may never get help and I don't know what to do next. I suppose this nerve block could help, but nothing has so far. So I have a difficult time believing it right now. I have written these rants before, but I have just had it with the pain lately. thanks for listening to this all.
