Guest guest
Geraldine Ferraro was on the today show this morning and was talking about her cancer and the new treatment for it.It made me think about our situation with PSC and research. She had a great line that applies to us."It's not luck, it's investment"See this copied excerpt from the Today show site below. Now, she hopes that she will inspire other cancer patients to keep fighting and for everyone to work to raise funds for research into cures."I think if you spend the money and have enough doctors working on this thing, it’s not luck, it’s investment," she told Gangel. When she was diagnosed with myeloma, she worried that she would die before her grandchildren were old enough to remember who she was. Now, her doctor teases her, she can worry about paying their college tuition."Whatever you want. I will do that," she said, enjoying the thought. "Be more than happy to do that. You know, I don't know if I'm going to make it to 80, but if I do, you're going to see one happy celebrating when I do."I truly believe that working through Partners, we will have more breakthroughs with more doctors looking for more answers.I will continue to "invest" time, energy and money to PSC Partners Seeking a Cure until we have a better treatment for PSC and until PSC patients not longer need to go through a liver transplant.I hope many of you will join us on the journey and you can start by joining us on the Road to ville fundraiser. Together in the fight , whatever it takes.Lee
