My chickens wouldn't eat anything but scratch when I got them -- now they gobble down all kinds of stuff, and they forage just fine. They eat a lot more when there are more chickens too: raising one chick alone isn't a good idea unless you only want one for a pet and want it to bond to people. Aracanas seem a lot " wilder " and closer to the original breed than most others, IMO. They were only domesticated fairly recently, and all the one's I've had have been very smart.
