Guest guest
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 03, 2007 12:51 PM, CDT We’re headed back to TB House in a little while. Ken hasn’t had a fever in 2 days! I’m hoping this is the start of something good. He still has the rash, but with no fever, I’m not concerned at all (ha ha). I got a great birthday present from Ken yesterday. He laughed out loud 3 times. This was a big deal for TJ & I, as Ken hasn’t done much laughing lately. Keeping my fingers crossed that this too is a new trend. A few minutes ago, he yelled; “I could eat something”……of course that was met with his loving, thoughtful, ever present caretaker yelling back; “get me something too while you’re up!” Kim left for China this morning. It was hard for her to go so far away, but these plans were made ages ago and she richly deserves her time off. We all hope she has a great time and comes home safe and sound. Enjoy what’s left of your weekend, Barb MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 03, 2007 02:40 PM, CDT I am never going to write good things again!!! No sooner than I posted what a great weekend we were having, did Ken check his cell phone messages. Baylor has been trying to reach us since Saturday. Ken has CMV, (they said his counts were 'way up') so we are headed back now and Ken will be admitted this evening. He'll probably be released tomorrow and home health care will come in every day and give him infusions twice daily. At least that is the plan as it stands now. With Ken - who knows. Guest guest
My wife had CMV, I don't think it's that uncommon for transplant recipients. After a few weeks of more drugs, her levels were back to normal.
