Guest guest
I never know if my fatigue is due to the PSC or to the pain medications I take. I've discovered that I need at least 10 hours of sleep each night and at least 2 full days of rest to handle a week of work. When I had doctors that were dismissive of my symptoms, I found a new doctor. My current hepatologist recently suggested I reduce my workweek, so I'm taking off a day each week. If I were an hourly worker, it wouldn't be a problem. But I work in a salaried position, and I've had to offload some of my assignments to accommodate the reduced hours on the job. I'm feeling somewhat uncomfortable because when I was recruited 3 years ago, I negotiated a pay rate that puts me at the top of our payscale. So, now I'm earning more than everbody else but working less - and feeling guilty about it. I " came out " at a recent staff meeting just in order to mitigate some of the resentment that I was sensing. My job puts me in touch with hundreds of workers; I've counseled workers who were hostile towards coworkers receiving ADA accommodations or taking time off under FMLA. It's really something, however, to be experiencing that resentment first-hand. I'm lucky to have supportive supervisors - so far. I used it recently on an intermittant basis to take care of my mother, and now I'm dealing with fatigue. My CT scan wasn't great (cirrohsis of the liver was seen) but the blood tests are normal - my doctor feels that it will be difficult to get disability. And I'm worried about my job. I don't think my boss is very sympathetic. My coworkers seem to be okay so far. I look healthy, so that is a problem. -Marie _________________________________________________________________ Get a FREE small business Web site and more from Microsoft® Office Live! http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/aub0930003811mrt/direct/01/
