Keeping an aggressive/self injurious child safe

I agree you shouldn't put a person who is out of control in any room

unsupervised even if the room is " safe " as they can hurt themselves just by

banging their fists on their head.

That said, you may need to put them in a room that is as safe as possible and

restrict their ability to leave it so they can't hurt others or themselves in a

supervised format either with a strong person in the room with them or via

surveillance camera. If this is your issue at home, I recommend buying mats or

foam floor tiles to cover the floor ( I have both), no furniture other than

mattress and box spring and a foam judo helmet. I would say this is your best

option
