Infection or VVS? Itching and discomfort.....HELP!!!

Oh my goodness I wanted to scream yesterday because I wanted to itch

myself like a maniac...the itching is coming from the inner lips by the

vaginal opening. Does that make sense? I controlled myself how I don't

know, then I hopped in the bath tub and soaked in Aveeno soothing bath

treatment for a bit. That didn't help at all, so I took a Benadryl that

would not help control the itch either. The last thing I tried was a

topical steriod called " Pramasone " its a mixture of a steriod and

hydrocortisone ointment. It helped somewhat, although I still have the

urge to itch and I don't know what to do. I put emu oil on the area

this morning because I don't want to keep using Pramasone. Now, my

question is it a vaginal infection or is it just my darn VVS acting up,

any ideas ladies? I noticed during the beginning of last month the same

itching occured, could this be a monthly cycle? I have an appt. with my

NP this afternoon, I'm going to ask her to do a culture to see whether

or not I have an infection. It'll take a week to get the results in, so

what should I do in the meantime? Thanks in advance and have a lovely
