Guest guest
My appt. with my NP went well except for the fact that she told me I had a yeast infection. That was hard to hear because I haven't had any infection since the beginning of Jan. Now, I'm panicking and stressing myself out because I hope I'm not going to have several infections like I did last year. She Rx'ed me Difulcan and told me to buy OTC Zyrtec which I may do. Has anyone had success with Zyrtec or recommend a different antihistamine? I'm going start taking my probiotic w/acidolphilus complex, oregano oil capsules, cut down on the carbs and sugars. What else can I do to control the itch and get rid of the aggressive yeast? I feel so helpless right now and I hate feeling this way. Guest guest
, I know it's hard, but the first thing to do is try to remain calm. Remind yourself that you'll get this under control and be fine.I sent in some Abstracts today about using boric acid for yeast/vaginal infections. As for antihistamines, it just depends on the person. Try Zrytec, if it doesn't work, try Benadryl or any you would prefer. I used to use a Rx antihistamine called Hydroxyzine, it makes you sleepy, so I only took it before bedtime, but it works! Hospitals use it before surgical procedures to help calm anxiety. In higher doses it is used as an anti-anxiety med. Hang in there, ChellePS - I sent in info on Hydroxyzine today, too! ;)bayareaprincess23 wrote: My appt. with my NP went well except for the fact that she told me Ihad a yeast infection. Guest guest
I've been debating back and forth if I should try using boric acid suppositories since last year. If I put anything inside my vagina besides emu oil, I tend to burn or get a stinging sensation. Therefore, I'm hesitant on trying it, could I have it compounded in a base and if so what bases do ya'll recommend? How many times should I use it and for how long? I appreciate any suggestions, hope ya'll have pain free days. ** Re: Remedies/Treatments for a Yeast Infection , I know it's hard, but the first thing to do is try to remain calm. Guest guest
, If your tissue is that sensitive (mine is, too), you might consider oral treatment options (prescription antifungals like Fluconazole, Nizoral, etc., or concentrated preparations of herbal alternatives like oregon grape root, uva ursi, oregano, and garlic). Good luck! Glomer > > My appt. with my NP went well except for the fact that she told me I > had a yeast infection. Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestions Glomer, I need to start taking the Oregano oil capsules like I used to, I didn't take it long enough to know if it helped or not. I've heard Fungal Defense by Garden of Life is excellent, although I'm severely allergic to garlic so that won't work. My NP wrote me a RX for Difulcan, I took one pill already last night and I'll take another tomorrow night....somethings gotta work or I'm going to lose my mind..hehe! ** Re: Remedies/Treatments for a Yeast Infection , If your tissue is that sensitive (mine is, too), you might consider oral treatment options (prescription antifungals like Fluconazole, Nizoral, etc., or concentrated preparations of herbal alternatives like oregon grape root, uva ursi, oregano, and garlic). Guest guest
I've started using Nystatin for yeast. It's a liquid that you take 3 times a day. --------- Re: Remedies/Treatments for a Yeast Infection ,If your tissue is that sensitive (mine is, too), you might consider oral treatment options (prescription antifungals like Fluconazole, Nizoral, etc., or concentrated preparations of herbal alternatives like oregon grape root, uva ursi, oregano, and garlic).Good luck!Glomer> > My appt. with my NP went well except for the fact that she told me I> had a yeast infection.
