Guest guest
This issue is a controversial one with dentists. I have an old timer dentist who hails from academia and is against replacing the fillings, so I'd have to pay for it not my insurance. I know of other dentists who have a strong leaning toward replacement, and may be able to make this happen within the guidelines of my insurance policy. I may have to switch dentists to make that happen. Do y'all think it's worth it to have all the old Mercs removed and composite put in? - 45 PSC, Crohns 2000
Guest guest
It is very timely that this topic has come up. I have an appointment tomorrow morning to have my remaining mercury amalgam fillings replaced. Alonng with my Gastr., I see an Naturopathic doctor (I will do anything to delay the onset of PSC). My Naturopath suggested that I have my fillings replaced. Mercury amalgam fillings have been outlawed in Sweden because of the potential for mercury leaching out of the fillings and being absorbed by the body. My Naturopath is seeing several people that have PSC, one who has been seeing him for several years. Following the advice of the naturopath, this person was able to drive all the blood tests into the normal range. My sister is a dental assistant and she has seen first hand, mercury fillings leaching into mouth gaurds worn during sleep by children. Although, very basic, it only makes sense that if our bodies have an adverse response to mercury exposure, why do millions of people walk around with mouths full of it. Guest guest
, I would be interested to see what this naturpathic doctor has done to bring the blood level back to normal. Do you have a name or number? Thanks Arman Re: Mercury fillings - again It is very timely that this topic has come up. If you search North Shore Naturopath Clinic or his name, you will find the clinic. He has 3 or 4 books available in any major book store. I have been following his advice and eating ``properly`and my UC symptoms are non-existent and my PSC has remained asymptomatic. Maybe I am one of the lucky ones, maybe the worst is just around the corner or maybe it`s working...``if it ain`t broke, don`t fix it!`` After my dental work this morning, I went and had my blood test done, I will see the results in a few weeks. I am currently trying to rid my body of any of the mercury that has built up over the years. Hopefully, my blood test results will return to normal. Good luck Arman. If you have any questions, don`t hesitate to contact me. PSC & UC 2005
