Guest guest
Very interesting. Fortunately my dentist has always avoided having me go through a root canal, so it hasn't been done. I do have mercury fillings, which he sees no need to replace. I now get composite fillings for any cavities. I'm on immunosuppressents, so I also take an antibiotic before dental cleanings. I also floss every day, which I've heard is very important for immunosuppressed people, as the teeth & gums are an avenue of invasion for bacteria. I didn't realize that boniva is an immunosuppresent. I'm on Fosamax. Is that the same? >I had PSC before I had root canals done. Before my transplant, all the >teeth with root canals were removed. Guest guest
The fosamax and boniva etc. are for keeping bones strong. There have been some cases of problems with the bones of the jaw when major dental work is done. It is rare, but worth being aware of. Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com.
