Guest guest
Did you ever check out Geni.com? It's a cool free place to keep a family tree and photos.I have my Gramma ' journal from 1947. It inspired me to start keeping one each year too. I also have a letter she wrote telling how she met her husband and about their wedding. It's a treasure. SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. I probably should think about putting more in my tree.. specially since I found my mother's 2nd diary (wish I could find the first).. cause she kept track of EVERYTHING.. who was born, when where how.. and who died, got married, moved.. whatever.. she kept track.. Her OLD diary really really had some terrific info in it.. I think my dad is squirreling that away though.. hopefully he doesn't lose his mind and throw it out.. HUGS |)onna I don't expect you all to be as excited as I am over this, okay? But I had to tell someone!!! rofl I just got an email giving me a link to the grave info and (a photo of the gravestone!) of my third great grandfather, Melchior Ruckel (Rockel). He is buried in Hidlay Cemetary in Columbia Co, PA. He was born in 1761 and died in 1826. hugs Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
I'll give Geni a look.. but do use Legacy for my database.. it does come in a free version.. just all the bells & whistles don't work.. but pictures can be stored.. and all kinds of other things as well.. think it was only like $29.95 or something to buy the FULL BLOWN version.. and the upgrades come free after buying it.. (Legacy is what the LDS uses too I believe.. that's where I got the program to start with)... Did do Ancestry.com for a bit.. but unless you pay the membership fee.. you don't get to see all the goodies in there.. AND the sad part of that is that they are accessing databases that with a little searching.. can be found online somewhere... And I digress... I have Legacy on my laptop.. figure that if I do it that way.. when I finally get to the courthouse or libraries (without wi-fi access) I can still collect the data I need by using the laptop and stuffs.. can take it with me and sit it down on the table beside me type thing.. AND the database can be copied to a flash drive and put onto other computers as well... But I'm going to check it out today.. since is snoozing on the couch with the SyFy channel going.. it'll give me something to do HUGS |)onna..
