Sorry, I've tried twice and can't send mail to you. Don't know what's

up with this ISP - other than it's the cheapest we could find in Dallas.

Those darn fevers! Ken's had more than his share. After they cultured

for everything, and all tests came back negative - the doc told us -

the next time Ken has a fever, to go straight to the lab. He said many

times stuff hides and once in a while taking blood during a fever,

reveals different results. You might want to try a standing order so

maybe you can catch it before your fever goes down. 102 sounds bad,

much to high to just shrug off and it sounds to high to blame on a

reaction to meds.

Goes to show you what I know - I would have bet you had CMV.

Especially since CMV can cause cataracts. Very happy to hear you

don't have it.

Actually I just found out that I do! I was negative pretransplant and

the liver was negative, but somehow I must have picked it up since

then! I guess that shows what immune suppression can do... 37 years

without it, and then I get it in four months!

So, they've got me back on Valcyte, but at a higher dose than I was

before. Hopefully that will take care of it. I am feeling a bit better

so maybe that's a good sign!

Good grief, I was happy to hear you didn't have it and now this. Ken's

getting IV's twice a day to try and kick his, then they will switch to

pills. Did the doc say it's in your eyes? Ken's is in his intestines.

You might have gotten it from another patient - they say it is

contagious from one patient to another.

I don't think it's in my eyes... I'm going to Vandy on the 17th so

they'll check me out then. The only symptoms I've had have been fevers

so I'm hoping it hasn't really " settled in " to one place yet.

I've only taken two doses of Valcyte so far, and I've already pretty

much gotten rid of the fevers so hopefully I'll get over it pretty quick.
