Guest guest
I once had a bladder infection which involved a lot of blood in my urine. My doctor (actually the PA) had to insert a catheter in my bladder to take a sample because she could not believe all the blood that was coming out. She emptied my bladder and the problem was gone. No more pain and no more bleeding. There was something in there that was trying to get out and causing a lot of pain in the process. All she said was that there was a " lot of bacteria " in there. So don't let your period stop you from investigating something peculiar. Ora >HI ne. > >Glad you jumped in hon.. We've lots of lurkers and I hope others feel free to jump in at any time, we appreciate hearing from you, whether it's a rant or a rave or a question on anything. I never thought of even questioning it if I were bleeding, I always just juggled around it or had to cancel, (but I bled so heavily too) so now I know. *smile* thanks hon. Of course it depends too on what you're in there for, like for a clean urine catch... no way would 'that' work for that one. > >Hugs >Dee
Guest guest
HI Ora. You're absolutely right and I wasn't thinking of that, just that when they need a clean urine catch 'without' a catheterization if there's any menstrual blood at all in it, it screws it up. I've had the catheterization several times (thank goodness its never hurt either) because I always have minute' blood in my urine (nothing you can see visually but with the dip sticks) mine's ideopathic, no known reason, but they sure keep an eye on me for that, and run all kinds of tests every few years, all the way up my ureters, the bladder & to the kidneys because if it's bladder cancer by the time they'd find out, it's almost too late. *Knock on wood* the levels have never gotten higher. And I don't carry the gene for susceptibility, (another one they tested for) again *knock on wood* but it sure does make you wonder then where in the heck is that small amt. of blood leaking from, eh? But I don't worry about it either. HugsDee ----- Original Message ----- From: taurusrc@... I once had a bladder infection which involved a lot of blood in my urine.
