Guest guest
Hi all Also I am trying to add binders for my son, as he stimms night and day (ocular - waving a piece of grass/ribbon in front of his eyes, vestibular - running back and forth, verbal - a psshh sound) given the chance, I was told this was a solution by the amazing Channa and Rita. They use Shaklee alfalfa, and I can't get it in Australia. I have been using Blooms super alfalfa (with no real response), and now Nature's way (from iherb) with now real response either. Anyone have some good ideas for local binders. Or am i using enough? He takes 4 t capsules per meal. IS that enough? Thanks
Guest guest
oh well, i will have to give the binders credit to Rita!...she knows much more about that binder stuff then me... for me...i like charcoal...or even alka seltzer gold for die off...however i notice lately charcoal works better for die off and i think alka selzter gold is more for the irritation ie. inflammed colon, acidosis ect.. i know rita had a lengthy post a while back on binders i wrote them all down somewhere but my notes are in no specific order all over the place.... channa To: mb12valtrex Sent: Sunday, December 11, 2011 6:03 PMSubject: Alfalfa: stimming binders in Aus Hi allAlso I am trying to add binders for my son, as he stimms night and day (ocular - waving a piece of grass/ribbon in front of his eyes, vestibular - running back and forth, verbal - a psshh sound) given the chance, I was told this was a solution by the amazing Channa and Rita. They use Shaklee alfalfa, and I can't get it in Australia. Guest guest
Do you supplement with vitamin a? That could help with the ocular stimming. Google Megson. Guest guest
, The stimming I'm referring to is stimming that gets worse with detoxing....binders by nature mop up toxins that are stirred up during detox. There are many things that can cause stimming. When your child does not stimm that much, but starts or gets worse with a detox it can sometimes be helped by binding up the toxins & helping the body get rid of the toxins that the detox has stirred up....sorry if I did not make this part clear...binders themselves can be hard to explain/comprehend. It does not have to be the Shaklee alfalfa, that is just what our WA group has found to be effective & the easiest to get down those that do not take pills as it's mint flavored ) One of the other things about both Chlorella & Alfalfa is that they are both alkaline superfoods (high in minerals/vitamins)...so they are both binders & superfoods as well...we figure that's double-bang for your buck ) I just resent the list of binders/organ supports a group of experienced biomed parents from the LIA group put our heads together to create it to help others with this somewhat complex issue (I certainly can't take the credit for all of it, I just compiled & distributed it). This list is put together with the stongest binders on top. Like Channa said in her post, Activated Charcoal is actually the most powerful binder...it's also the most harsh (carries out a whole bunch in it's path, good & bad) & difficult to dose (2 hours away from everything else).....but when it's needed, it's needed (I've had to dose it many times when doing heavy chelating). If you are just doing mild detox, depending on what you are detoxing, most times some of the other more gentle binders can help...that's where the chlorella & alfalfa come in (again, these both help alkalize, bind & provide minerals). Many others on the list many also help with binding. Regarding the stimming you mentioned, there are many other things that may be going on to cause your stimming issues...not just detox related. Have you done a Doctor's Data Hair test recently? This may help you determine what kind of mineral derrangement issues you may have. For my son, I know when his Zinc gets low he starts eye blinking....we basically keep it under control, but if his body is detoxing/fighting something, he can start the eye blinking thing....I know him enough to know to bump up his Zinc & it stops (I've been told this can also be low magnesium, but for my son, it tends to be Zinc). Mercury (or mercury movement when detoxing) can also be hand flapping. Here's from my Toxic Metals Notes: July, 2000 Testimony before US House of Representatives: Mercury poisoning side affects " include the defining characteristics of autism - sensory disturbances such as numbness in the extremities and mouth, aversion to touch, and unusual response to noise; movement disorders like toe-walking, hand flapping, clumsiness, and choreiform movements; and cognitive impairments in specific domains like short-term verbal and auditory memory and in understanding abstract ideas. " Bottom line....there are many reasons for stimming, narrowing down what the childs body needs that is creating the stimm is the big part of your puzzle...it could be many things. Binders will help in some circumstances when it's detox related just like certain minerals, good fats like fish oils...or for some anti-virals and/or chelators....this all very much depends on the child. So wish this were easier to figure out.... Hope this helps clarify further the binder thing. Guest guest
Hi all Yes I do supp him Vitamin A, and have had a test done. He is 1.0 (0.7-3.0 ref: range). He takes Nordic NAtural CLO +D:Vit A (1500-2950i.u.)x2.5 x 2 day = 7500-9000 units a day. Activated Charcoal - already have been on this for die - off for Diflucan. Maybe I should be continuing with the charcoal - was thinking to pull it, as thought 2 weeks of Diflucan trial would be most of die-off, but if he is still stimming, as before, then he is having a general detox sign?. He was on Charcoal before for 2 months (on Biofilm protocol to get rid of parasites), and still stimming though. Maybe I should up the charcoal? (have i herb - NAtures's answer brand). Channa, why did mention that group in europe? Does that mean get another opinion? cheers > > oh also cant remember if this was mentioned...there is a group based in europe called biomedical europe yahoo group > > > > ________________________________ > > To: " mb12valtrex " <mb12valtrex > > Sent: Sunday, December 11, 2011 7:46 PM > Subject: Re: Alfalfa: stimming binders in Aus > > >  > Do you supplement with vitamin a? That could help with the ocular stimming. Google Megson. > > > ________________________________ > > To: mb12valtrex > Sent: Sunday, December 11, 2011 6:03 PM > Subject: Alfalfa: stimming binders in Aus > > >  > Hi all > > Also I am trying to add binders for my son, as he stimms night and day (ocular - waving a piece of grass/ribbon in front of his eyes, vestibular - running back and forth, verbal - a psshh sound) given the chance, I was told this was a solution by the amazing Channa and Rita. > > They use Shaklee alfalfa, and I can't get it in Australia.
