Hello,I was wondering if you all could tell me your experience and recommendations on the dosage of valtrex for a 6 yr. old boy, w/ PDD-NOS, low tone, apraxia, behavioral, aggressive, PANDAS, etc. our list goes on. Our Dr. right now has us on 500mg in the AM, and 250mg in the PM. Does this seem like enough? We have not seen any issues good or bad, until last week when we had to switch an antibiotic he was on because of the strep/PANDAS. Two days after we added the omnicef, he's had major diarrhea. We have to take him every hour to the toilet. the stool is very much like sand, it just falls to the bottom of the toilet and stays in a pile. at first I thought it was bug that was going around at school, then I thought maybe it's the new antibiotic, now I'm thinking it might be the valtrex. We

started Valtrex just over a month ago.Any opinions would be great, and experience with dosage would be helpful to see if we're in the right range. I'd hate to be doing all this if it's not even a strong enough dose to do anything.-Thanks!

Our 6 year old son (45 lbs) sees dr Goldberg. He is taking 3/4 of a 500mg tab in am... 1/2 in afternoon and 3/4 at bedtime. I believe there is a half life of 5 hours so dosing 3x per day is good for that.
