Guest guest
Thank you, |)onna! It is a sad day indeed. One politician, don't remember the party but that is quite irrelevant, said during the night after the elections, when the preliminary results were in, when questioned by a TV-reporter about what he believed/felt about chances of winning/losing the election:"Questions of winning or losing the election feels rather redundant right now. If these preliminary results turns out to be the final ones, we will not have lost an election, but a country"And I read one comment yesterday saying: "Late at night the 28th of February 1986 part of Sweden as we had known it died. A september night 24 years later something similar happened." (The first date was referring to the assassination of the Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme, which changed a lot about how Swedes viewed Sweden and how politics was thought and done). The writer continued: "Yes, I know the comparison may seem drastic. But I am convinced that could Olof Palme be consulted today, he would consider Nazi politicians at power in Sweden something of even greater significance than his own death" Strong words, in both cases, but true. And yes, I believe we must have failed something miserably with history education for this to be possible.love/Reb> >> >> > So...it happened...unbelievable as it is.
