Interesting article. I believe my VV is tied into my digestive system and with my hormones.

I do have heavier periods now, bad cramps, but one of the other symptoms is weight loss. I am having the OPPOSITE PROBLEM! I have gained 15 lbs. and I have never had to diet or exercise to be thin in my life!

When my vulvodynia first started to manifest I had gained 15 pounds and for

about a year and a half had been trying to lose it because I had never had a

weight problem before. The weight gain started after a bout with Salmonella or

something similar. Finally, 12 years later I lost the 15 pounds and now have

no problem with weight gain.

I lost it by not eating for at least four hours before bedtime. I have trouble

sleeping on an empty stomach and had to take a lot of naps to catch up on the

sleep that I lost at night. I followed that plan for about three weeks, lost

the 15 pounds and no more weight problems and my gastrointestinal problems have

alleviated tremendously. I take NAG (n-acetyl-glucosamine) for that and if I

take it regularly my GI problem leaves me alone.

I do not have the weight problem any more and can now eat something before

bedtime without gaining weight.
