Wow. Thankfully in most places, there really isn't any law like that in

B.C....but DH says that there are laws like that in 28 states >.<

Hopefully the parental abandonment thing means she also forefeited any

child-to-parent support.

I freaked when I read this because my mother would totally do this.

She's old and is a leech on the system to begin with. As it is I worry about any

debt she dies with.
