Guest guest
You should never try to decrease a benign and peaceable behavior which is obviously a psychological defense. Yours, Larry My 9 yr old son is constantly laughing and squealing..he used to do i t here and there, but in the past few weeks, it has increased greatly. Has anyone experienced the same,,what solutions does anyone suggest to decrease this behavior? Debbie
Guest guest
My son does this when he gets a fungal over growth in gut. I always do a MOAT test from Great Plains Labs to make sure that is what I am dealing with before I treat the over growth. solution for constant laughing and squealing My 9 yr old son is constantly laughing and squealing..he used to do i t here and there, but in the past few weeks, it has increased greatly. Guest guest
Debbie, Hysterical laughing and squealing/screeching for my son is undoubtably yeast overgrowth. You could also do a stool test which checks for yeast through a gastroenterologist or DAN dr. For a while we used prescription antifungals, but over the past year we have used natural antifungals like GSE (grapefruitseed extract) and lots of probiotics (these need to be given separately. It has eliminated these behaviors completely for us. You can also start by limiting yeast causing foods like refined sugars and starchy carbs. Please research before using naturals, b/c they are potent and need to be dosed correctly. The biomedical/autism forum groups on yahoo have been a great resource for me as far as dosing and information. HTH, Shiri > > My son does this when he gets a fungal over growth in gut. Guest guest
Larry, For some autistic children, like my son, hysterical laughter is anything but benign or peaceable. Before we treated him for yeast, he used to wake up in the middle of the night and maniacally laugh for hours alternating between crying and laughing and stimming and repeating phrases over and over hundreds of times and would become very rigid and OCD. He is clearly uncomfortable and unhappy when he does this, and I know he is not in control of himself and it makes him miserable. Treating him for yeast and fungal overgrowth has eliminated this, and now you can tell he is happy because he completely calm and smiles all the time, and laughs when things are funny to him - not for no reason at all. Guest guest
Yes constant laughing and squealing is yeast overgrowth and also yeast dieoff effect if you are doing some treatment for yeast overgrowth. Treat the yeast with probiotics (Kirkmans, Klaires, Houston's) and something to kill the yeast. CLO2 is very powerful and easy... one or two drops in water and there's no taste. www.crownwellness.com The body ecology diet has instructions on how to do coconut Keifer yogurt which also is very good to clean up the GI tract. Coconut has MCT oil which is very helpful in eradicating yeast as well. http://www.bodyecology.com/mcoconutkefir.php My 9 yr old son is constantly laughing and squealing..he used to do i t here and there, but in the past few weeks, it has increased greatly.Has anyone experienced the same,,what solutions does anyone suggest to decrease this behavior?Debbie

Guest guest
I'm 55 now. When we were kids I remember all of us laughing and squealing as we loaded our wagons with trash, setting them ablaze, and running, pulling them down the ally. When we got caught, i remember my great gpa saying......leave them alone, their just kids. Guest guest
Just wondering, how often is he doing this? Considering the alternative of crying or throwing a tantrum, I would prefer my child to be laughing. I'm assuming that he is happy when he is laughing? > > My 9 yr old son is constantly laughing and squealing..he used to do i t here and there, but in the past few weeks, it has increased greatly. > Has anyone experienced the same,,what solutions does anyone suggest to decrease this behavior? > > Debbie >
Guest guest
I don't know where they get from laughing toYeast but it's not nice to call people crazy! The laughing They r talking about is not the same as kids having fun. This laughing is uncontrollable and out of context With what is going on at that moment.Sent from my iPhone I can't take this....are you people crazy? You treated him for yeast and fungi! Guest guest
Kingmeerkat, Why would you call treating someone who has a documented MEDICAL condition crazy? Not that I have to justify myself to anyone, but when you have a child with ongoing explosive diarrhea, several times a day to the point where he can't even sit down from the pain and rashes, and you have LAB tests run by medical physicians confirming rampant yeast and fungal infections, then the SANE thing would be to treat your child so that they will not be in pain anymore. Some people think that a child who has autism and GI issues should not be treated just b/c the DR will tell you " Yes, that is typical of autism for children to have GI issues " . To me, it is CRAZY to let a child suffer from a medical/physical condition just b/c they're primary dx is autism and they believe that autism cannot be treated, not to mention cruel. Debbie, no one can tell you how to treat your child. You asked and I can only tell you that my child has amazingly improved with a variety of biomedical treatments. He no longer wakes up at night laughing hysterically, has normal stools, and is doesn't curl up in a ball in pain and press pillows on his belly anymore. If you choose you can research yeast and its side effects and make an informed decision for yourself. Guest guest
Dr. Shaw has been testing yeast metabolites since 1995. He's the owner of Great Plains Laboratory where you can get a complete breakdown of yeast overgrowth in your child. Dr. Shaws tests the yeast by products as well which are very toxic to the body. www.greatplainslaboratory.com Where and what is great plains lab.Sent from my iPad
Guest guest
Great Plains Laboratory is in Oregon I believe and they offer a variety of tests that our kids usually need. You can contact them directly and they will send you the tests you need or you can go through your Dr. and have them order the tests from GPL. You collect the sample, package it up in the packaging they send you, and then mail it back to them in the postage paid overnight envelope they provide in the package. Simple and easy. The tests usually take about two weeks to get back and they will interpret the tests for you or you can have a qualified physician interpret the tests. Just google them to get their contact info. Guest guest
My siblings and I did crazy things also and would laugh about nothing or so everyone though quite often. My daughter will get the giggles - what about? I have no idea but I would rather hear her giggles than the screams that used to be. Guest guest
I would be very careful passing judgement regarding unexplained bursts of uncontrollable laughter. My suggestion for this parent would be to have a consult with a neurologist. One of my kids used to have similar symptoms... turned out they were mild seizures. > > My siblings and I did crazy things also and would laugh about nothing or so everyone though quite often. My daughter will get the giggles - what about? I have no idea but I would rather hear her giggles than the screams that used to be. > > > > >To: sList > >Sent: Friday, July 1, 2011 2:29 PM > >Subject: Re: solution for constant laughing and squealing > > > > > > > >Touching and sweet...... > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > solution for constant laughing and squealing > > > > > >My 9 yr old son is constantly laughing and squealing..he used to do i t here and there, but in the past few weeks, it has increased greatly. > >Has anyone experienced the same,,what solutions does anyone suggest to decrease this behavior? > > > >Debbie > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Well, if you put it like that...but seriously, just because one behavior could be a lot worse, doesn't mean that it's good, right? It's still inappropriate and should be looked that. It could be just a sense of humor but could also be a sensory int issue, a self-regulation difficulty. If there might be something our kids could use the help to deal with, why not?Besides, as mentioned, there's a difference between a giggle and a manic laugh. Let's open our minds, and not pass judgement...When I was a kid I went to school with plenty of kids with quirky behavior, and at that time we just thought they were odd...nothing like autism ever crossed our minds but it could have been it at times... one thing is for sure though, unfortunately, they all struggled to fit in an some quit in middle school. Why let things come to that if there might be something we could do to help?Sent via BlackBerry from T-MobileSender: sList Date: Tue, 5 Jul 2011 11:39:05 -0700 (PDT)To: sList <sList >ReplyTo: sList Subject: Re: solution for constant laughing and squealing My siblings and I did crazy things also and would laugh about nothing or so everyone though quite often. Guest guest
Wasn't judging by any means. And giggling & manic laughter are 2 different things. And every one of our children have different behaviors that we all continue to deal with. Just trying to lighten up once in a while - we have so much on our plates. Guest guest
No judgement was passed. Everyone's child has different behaviors that they go through at different times and we of course need to have it checked and if you read my last line - it speaks volumes.
