Hi Ladies, Many of you have had PT for the PN problem/pelvic floor dx.

My question is, what kind of exercieses are you given? Can some of

them be done at home or will you need to have PT forever??

I have PN 'kinda.'I can sit, but have the other symptoms of PN. I go

to my gyno July 1 and she always wants to do surgery to remove the

bartholin glands.(SP??)What do you ladies think @ surgery? Would it

help w/ PN?

Thanks for your input:)

Joyce,

Don't know about the surgery but I'm generally not a fan of surgery

unless it's an absolute last resort.

I had weekly PT for a long time and DH did work on my at home many days

as well. It helped ALOT! I now only go to PT maybe 1-2x/month and may

have to stop after baby comes in August because we just can't afford

it. =(

I don't think you necessarily have to go to PT forever but I think most

of us have to do some kind of maintenance work forever or we will go

right back to where we started.

Hi Joyce,It can be good to at least go to a really good updated PT to have an evaluation of your pelvic floor muscles. At least that way, you can find out if you have dysfunction that might be referring pain to the vulvar area. Do you have inflammation in the Bartholin Glands? I'd really study that one out, and possibly try all conservative treatments first, before any type of surgery. If you will go back and read a few posts from Marcia, she was faced with the decision about removing the Bartholin Glands. ~Chellejteachit wrote: Hi Ladies, Many of you have had PT for the PN problem/pelvic floor dx.My question is, what kind of exercieses are you given? J, Here you go: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VulvarDisordersWhen you get to the homepage, look over to the box on the left. Click on Database, then you'll need to click on "Physician Referrals - PTs & Naturopaths". The PT is in Berkley, MI -- is that anywhere near you? Also, there is a Nurse Practitioner that is good and treats patients with Vulvodynia and IC. I'll look up her info. I know of two women that have gone to the Nurse Practitioner and the PT that are better then what they were. Hope this helps...ChelleJSyun4505@... wrote: Chelle, How do I get to the home page (and in turn, the database)? Yes, I just moved to Michigan....
