What does one do when one's friends remark, " Perhaps just persistant discipline would change her behavior? " I have a dear friend who does not understand my daughter's asperger behaviors, particularly when she has sensory reactions. I said, " Do you really think that disciplining her every few minutes times 100 would make a difference? " I know my daughter is not behaving poorly because she wants to, in that particular situation. Still, I didn't know how to reply to my friend. My daughter is only 5.
