Guest guest
FREE OR LOW COST ADVOCACY SERVICES FOR BROWARD FAMILIES The United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) Advocacy Program assists families of children with special needs under the age of 22 (physical/developmental/intellectual disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, and Prader-Willi Syndrome, and Developmental disabilities -- language/motor/cognitive) who reside in Broward County in securing educational services and resources for their children. Parents learn about their child's disability, educational rights, and how to establish a working relationship with others involved in their child's educational journey. We accompany parents to IEP/FSP or other school meetings, help prepare for and teach strategies to be successful at the meetings. The Advocacy Program's mission is to provide parents with the necessary training and support so that they can learn the necessary skills to advocate for their children at school and in the community.
