Guest guest
Hey all, Well my insurance has finally approved for me to be evaluated. I have to be at the hospital tomorrow(WED) morning at 7:30 for the first leg of the eval. I have all the blood work and test tomorrow. Then I go back next week to see a Dietician and have a support team meating on Tues. Wednesday of next week, I go see the Phyciatrist, transplant doctor and another doctor. The nerves have really kicked up a notch today. I am not sure whats going to happen but I am pretty scared. I will let you all know more as it comes in. I prolly won't know much till Wednesday of next week, but I will keep you up to date. Whitfield UC 96 PSC

Guest guest
, Good luck on your transplant Eval. As anxious as anyone would be under those circumstances, just keep in mind all those who have gone before and all of us who will be there with you in spirit and prayer. May everything go smoothly for you and your caregivers. Good luck!! Omaha/Tarheel Tim

Guest guest
, As exhausting as evaluation week is I'm sure you will do fine. I just finished mine in late August - it was 5 full days of testing and meeting with doctors, etc. Mine included cardiac and pulmonary testing also plus a nice visit with the business office to make sure we could pay for the tx. On Tuesday monring I learned I have officially been listed and will receive a certified letter sometime this week to that affect. The sort of bad news is that my meld went from 21 to 14 on my last labs. I am on a maintenance dose of antibiotics for chronic infections which caused my lab work to improve so much but now I probably won't even be offered a liver. My local GI is checking with the tx center (Dr. Gilroy specifically who used to be with Nebraska) to see if exemption points are available. It's a catch 22 - if I go off the antibiiotic my lab values will go up but then I will develop an infection which means they wouldn't tx me. What's a pscer to do?? Try to enjoy your evaluation, even the psychiatric part. :)Blessings, Barby - KS UC - 1965, ileostomy - 1972, BCIR (continent pouch) 1994, PSC - 1995, arthritis 2007married 27 years , 5 sons, 2 daughters in law, 1 granddaughter born 6/06 and 2 golden retrievers
Guest guest
- Congrats on the eval approval. It is a very long week ahead of you. I think being there with my brother for all the appointments was more exhausting than a week at work ;-) Mostly it is a mental and emotional drain. Do keep us posted. Good luck, and remember you have a fantastic group of friends here pulling for you! Also, I blogged about my brother's eval week on the blog I keep of/for him for keeping our family informed since they all mostly live out of state. You can read about a humorous twitch of it at http://savedusty.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html Good luck, keep us posted, we are all rooting for you! in Texas Brother, , 31, UC & PSC
