Barb -- Keep in mind that just about anything sets of ab pain for me!!

Urso tore me to pieces. From what I understand, very very few

patients have the ab pain from Xifaxan. My dr. started me on just one

pill a day because I do tend to have such heightened reactions to

meds. If Ken is not typically that sensitive to meds, I wouldn't

expect it to be a problem.

Lactulose was what they put me on initially for the HE, and it

definitely took the edge off so that I wasn't as foggy, but it also

kept me in the bathroom! (My hubby would tease me: " Remember, Dear,

diarrhea is your friend now!! It's the de-fog setting for your

brain.) I sure was glad when they switched me to Xifaxan. It does

about 100 times better job at kicking HE out of your system!

I haven't searched the messages yet, but I really am thinking that

Ali's dose (pre-tx) was much higher than the usual 200 mg 3 x daily.

Keep on hanging in there. Prayers are surrounding you.

Sending you a hug,

Carolyn B. in SC
