Guest guest
Received from Dee today. Ora HI all, An update with the cataract eye surgery. I thought it didn't work as I could barely see out of it all day yesterday after the surgery. And sure enuf there 'WAS' a mixup in the lens (my only hesitation, wouldn't ya just know it) but the doctor said he knew about it the week before and he HAD to change the order... because the lens they 'were' going to put in that eye could not be made strong enough for me to see out of and that I was an 'exceptional' case. *GRIN...Of course*.. LOL The problem was he hadn't told me he did that and there I was putting a hold on everything... *grin*...Finally two hours later, once we got it all straightened out I said 'ok let's go for it'. But when it was overwith and I still couldn't see very good at all, I was really getting concerned, (Jack even more than me) but no pain at all, just a small little ache but I couldn't see clearly out of it either. Others had told me they saw beautifully almost immediately. Also no idea of what was in the twilight sleep (you're awake but in a zombie zone) but when I got home I slept 5 hours, up for maybe two, then slept another 9 hrs.. I go out so easily, talk about a cheap date. *chuckle* Anyway early this morning, (still not being able to see clearly) was a followup with the doctor (thank goodness)... and apparently there was extreme pressure in my eye and it was filled with a milky fluid (everything I saw had this milky white cloud or fog over it like looking thru smoke).. so he had to drain that with a needle (didn't hurt tho) and water gushed out of my eye down my cheek, but immediately it was about 80% better with the vision. *whew* I did sweat that one out I can tell you thinking it didn't work. PLUS he's got some sort of a dilation medication in the eye.. 'purposely' so that I can't focus in to read, (Or see the computer *DRATS*). He says that will take 10 to 12 days to wear off and the vision should be excellent from then on (near, middle and far). Meanwhile I'm not allowed much reading or computer use (sob sob) .... and the other eye is scheduled for mid July.... (as long as this one is ok)... which he assures me it will be. Much relieved believe me! *smile* So that's where it's at for now, but it also means I can't be here on line much and I'm not receiving group mail either (so anything to the group I won't see) but I know you're in very good hands with everyone helping out and especially for our 'newbies', so thank you all in advance and to say keep the faith you new members and know there is hope and help out here. Thank you for all of your good thoughts and prayers, it's so much appreciated, and it's gonna be just fine, but meanwhile you know I'll miss not being here big time! but I'll be back. Hugs to all, Luv Dee ~
