Guest guest
Yes that is what my specialist diagnosed me with but he didn't say anything about PT. He said this condition can litterally close up when trying to have sex. Do you know what happens to cause that? Where the muscles around the opening are so tight -- penetration literally becomes impossible. Have you ever been to a pelvic floor Physical Therapist? The really good ones can help with that condition, as well as, vulvar pain/ bladder pain, etc. Take Care,Chellepam ayers <dittojt (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: Hi ladies: You speak of pain during intercourse however is your partner still able to penetrate. My pain feels like there is something there stopping the penetration. If anyone has the same problem please advise. Then, after a few months, I went to two times a weeks. Now I use it about once a week -- twice or more if I feel like it. Guest guest
Vaginismus is caused by the muscles around the entrance to the vagina involuntarily spasming/tightening so that penetration is impossible. It can be caused by many things. For me, I had lichen planus which caused inflammation and pain with intercourse, so my body reacted by tightening up as a reaction, to protect itself. Good pelvic floor PT, with exercises and dilators at home as well has almost 100% fixed this (not the LP, but the vaginismus). I still need to be careful about lots of lubricant and positioning carefully, but it can get better! Melinda
