Guest guest
Been reading along, but somehow never managed to stay " sat " long enough to formulate replies... Prayers for everyone, especially Chuck and nne and everyone who's not feeling well, and Sharon's poor sore eyeballs! Yay! for everybody with good news! Himself is still job-hunting, sigh - has a lot of applications/resumes out, hopefully we'll hear something soon - he just ain't any good at staying home and unoccupied, and since he gets a small retirement check from the military unemployment is almost non-existant... Thank goodness our volunteer firemen get paid here (up to 800 hours, anyway) so there's some money coming in... Been busybusybusy proofreading embroidery charts and stitching models, in hopes of getting the Etsy store up and running soon. Been hunting a " better " internet for us as well - our dial-up has a download of only about 26 kbps, which means every time somebody sends me interesting pictures, my email gets " stuck " and crashes. Just discovered we can't get wireless, since we live in a little valley, sigh. Will check out DSL next - we really DON " T feel faster 'net is worth the $70+ for satellite net! Healthwise, been not bad, some days better, some worse. My right leg (the worse-affected) no longer straightens out completely at the knee, and my right ankle no longer flexes or extends completely - anybody else have something like that? The most bothersome part is that when standing my right heel no longer touches the ground, so that throws all my weight on my left leg... And today I have a toothache that goes from my lower jaw up into my ear, and is making very crabby and whiny... And the weather is slowly slowly creeping toward fall, won't be much longer til first snow... in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... Guest guest
Do your muscles ache on the bad leg? For example in the calf? Please be sure you are stretching your leg, especially your calf muscles. I would also suggest doing range of motion stretches and exercises for your knee and ankle. Since your heel doesn't meet the floor I am inclined to think your calf muscles are spastic and tightening which will make them muscles seem shorter. If you don't exercise and stretch, stretch, stretch! those muscles they can shorten permanently. If that doesn't seem to help then you may want to get to the doc and see what he/she can offer you. Oh the search for a faster internet! I am with you on that one. We had Wild Blue for a year and it was fast but expensive. Now we have so-called DSL through our phone company. Sometimes it's okay and other times the connection speed is just above dial up. .We are having fall weather here this week. Overnight lows have been 44 to 49 degrees. Daytime temps are in the 70s and low 80s. I want a long, long warm fall:) Last September we had a hard freeze on the 28th and *poof* it was winter. I hope that doesn't happen this year! I'm hoping for a lovely, long fall for you as well. big hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
It's the side I have the worst spasms and joint pain - am trying to keep it stretched and " warmed up " , for sure! It tightens up so much while I'm sleeping that when I have to get up to go potty in the night it's kind of pulled the knee out of joint! Got to remember to grab the dresser and stretch before trying to walk, or I just fall over (not good when you have to pee!!!!) And someday, maybe, the VA will recognize my existence and I can go to a doctor... Faster internet - if DSL can get us anything faster than regular dialup, we'll be doing good - I think the phone co. will have to come put in new lines, because we don't get faster than 26.4 on what's supposed to be a 56K! Guest guest
Sorry about the toothache .. they can be worse than having a baby . Here's hopes for Himself to find a job. I know what you mean about him being the kind who can't just "do nothing' and stay home! As for your leg, I think I know what you mean. My right one (bad side) doesn't bend anymore without a great deal of effort. If I decide to lay on the couch or bed, I physically have to lift the darn thing. Yet I can be doing something and suddenly it's like the knee gives out. I better be near something to grab onto then! My heel doesn't touch the ground either. It's like I'm rolling my toes to try and grab whatever surface I'm walking on. I wasn't even aware of it until pointed it out. The legs and my back hurt but my night spasms haven't been around for quite a while. Think I'd rather have spasms than cramps tho. Good luck with the Etsey shop! Have you thought about showing some of your designs to a few shops. Once you get your foot in the door, you'll have Hoffman calling! You're a great designer ... hugs, Cait Been reading along, but somehow never managed to stay "sat" long enough toformulate replies...Prayers for everyone, especially Chuck and nne and everyone who'snot feeling well, and Sharon's poor sore eyeballs!Yay! for everybody with good news!Himself is still job-hunting, sigh - has a lot of applications/resumesout, hopefully we'll hear something soon - he just ain't any good at stayinghome and unoccupied, and since he gets a small retirement check from themilitary unemployment is almost non-existant... Guest guest
The VA is saying absolutely nothing to me... I think Monday is time to send in enrollment forms AGAIN (this will be the 4th? 5th? set, none have been acknowledged so far). The last time I saw an actual doctor for anything other than " emergency spot repairs " was in 1986. I will probably walk in feeling pretty good, and come out with one foot in the grave. ;-D in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... Guest guest
Yeah, having a baby gets over sooner - and unless you're one of those women on TV, never " sneaks up " on you! ;-D I can MAKE my heel touch the ground - but it doesn't want to STAY there. Throws me just that little bit more off balance, and is literally a pain when I have to just stand a lot, like at church or a checkout line... Glad your night spasms are gone, those are miserable! Am busily proofreading, editing, and re-formatting all my so-far designs so they have a " look " - hopefully not much longer before the shop's on line! Once that's going, then it's time to maybe think of expanding - don't want to run into tax complications, etc, too soon! Don't want things to be too much like work, you know, might feel like I have to put on actual clothing... :-D in WY Practical Blackwork Designs " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... Guest guest
I think you should ask your senator or representative to help you. I have heard of people who had help with the VA from their senator or rep. My nephew developed Muscular Dystrophy in the Air Force. Since MD is usually a disease of kids it wasn't considered a disability that is covered by the VA. So my nephew contacted his senator, Orin Hatch, and they went together and my nephew testified before Congress. The VA rule was changed and MD is now a covered disability. My nephew got full military benefits as a result. So call your senator or rep and see what they will do for you.Good luck!hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Got to remember to grab the dresser andstretch before trying to walk, or I just fall over (not good when you haveto pee!!!!) And someday, maybe, the VA will recognize my existence and I can go to adoctor... Faster internet - if DSL can get us anything faster than regular dialup,we'll be doing good - I think the phone co. will have to come put in newlines, because we don't get faster than 26.4 on what's supposed to be a 56K!But Wild Blue, , all that is just really really too expensive... in WYPractical Blackwork Designs"You get a wonderful view from the point of no return..." http://practical-blackwork.blogspot.com http://practicalblackwork.com-----Original Message-----From: MSersLife [mailto:MSersLife ] On BehalfOf SharonSent: Saturday, September 25, 2010 3:36 PMTo: MSersLife Subject: Re: Gimping Behind Again! Do your muscles ache on the bad leg? For example in the calf? Please besure you are stretching your leg, especially your calf muscles. I wouldalso suggest doing range of motion stretches and exercises for your knee andankle. Since your heel doesn't meet the floor I am inclined to think yourcalf muscles are spastic and tightening which will make them muscles seemshorter. If you don't exercise and stretch, stretch, stretch! those musclesthey can shorten permanently. If that doesn't seem to help then you maywant to get to the doc and see what he/she can offer you. Oh the search for a faster internet! I am with you on that one. We hadWild Blue for a year and it was fast but expensive. Now we have so-calledDSL through our phone company. Sometimes it's okay and other times theconnection speed is just above dial up. .We are having fall weather here this week. Overnight lows have been 44 to49 degrees. Daytime temps are in the 70s and low 80s. I want a long, longwarm fall:) Last September we had a hard freeze on the 28th and *poof* itwas winter. I hope that doesn't happen this year! I'm hoping for a lovely, long fall for you as well. big hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
