Guest guest
At least once a month, sometimes more often, my wife has to leave work to pick up our son because he threw up or because he is crying uncontrollably. We live in Broward and were wondering if there was a babysitting service that could help in picking up special needs kids from school or after care and stay with them until the parent gets off from work. If anybody has any ideas please let me know.
Guest guest
I am sad to say there is very poor quality care for our kids and even being with flexibility with my job myself; our family has struggled with this over the years. To work or not to work. I feel your pain and are as much frustrated as you are. I wish I can tell you of someone but I go through personal care assistant like once a year. Its really frustrating and I know as parents we have a responsibility to our jobs and to our kids. The only way this will ever change is if we start filing law suits on the places who say they can provide adequate care because they really are not. Are they? Guest guest
I called a nanny place and they advsd me that they have special needs nannies and it is usually $10-15$ per hour. I asked about behavior training, meal prep, driving etc and was assured that they have people. I did not interview anyone but because of the medicaid issues with PCAs now you may need to have a back up plan. I googled the company for Broward County babysitting services and they kept popping up so I called. Since I have already had my fair hearing, I am waiting for the results. I'm financially unable to pay these kinds of prices but others may. I was even assured that they have nannies that speak in whatever language you need them to speak. Can they speak autism? only joking. Guest guest
I use YMCA special needs for more than a year and my experience is wonderful. Never call me to pick him up because of incidents, he is happy and love all the staff. They even were open to use the same ABA strategies that we use at home.
