Guest guest
I got a letter today saying that Dr. Lori Boardman was leaving Women & Infants' Hospital in RI and they were closing the Vulvar Clinic. Dr. Boardman is wonderful doctor and I hope she is staying in the area. Unfortunately, the letter gives no other information except to tell me to go back to the doctor that initially referred me (who could not help, which is why I was referred). Dr. Boardman treated me so much better than Dr. ever did, so I am really up a creek now, as I will not go back to Dr. . If anyone hears anything about Dr. Boardman, please post it. This is really a loss to the vulvar community as there is no one else on the East Coast that treats Vulvodynia or Vestibulitis with the compassion and progressive ideas as she does. nne
Guest guest
Oh nne,That just totally STINKS! I have a few ideas. First, call her office tomorrow and ask one of her receptionists where she is going to practice. Second, try emailing Christin Veasley and see if she knows anything - not only is she one of the directors for the NVA, but she lives in RI. (chris@...)I am so, so sorry, nne, but you probably know what I'm gonna say next. Don't give up! I know it's hard, but we just can't! I wonder if there is a Nurse Practitioner somewhere near you that might specialize in Women's health (who treats vulvar pain). If you haven't in awhile, ask the NVA for the practitioners list in your area.Hang in there!Big Hugs, Chelle
Guest guest
I had seen Dr. Boardman only twice and the second time was also told this news. She is going to work in Florida somewhere (so what a wonderful thing for people in Florida as I know there is a lack of good docs down there for this). Her assistant told me and she is no longer going to be a vulvar specialist either as she has decided to stay at home with her child. She even told me that unfortunately there is a lack of interest in vulvar problems and there's just no where/no one else. She said they are referring their patients to Dr. and Dr. Marjorie Green who is also in the Boston area. She said Dr. is now in more demand than ever and it's unlikely that new people will be able to get in. I know I won't be able to as I sent her all my info over 5 months ago and whenever I called all they said was that they had it and Dr. was still reviewing it. So, I've taken that as she doesn't want to see me for whatever reason, so I've made an appointment with Dr. Green. If anyone has seen her I'd greatly appreciated your comments about her as I am still struggling with my ongoing problem. > > Subject: Re: Dr. Boardman > To: VulvarDisorders > Date: Thursday, July 3, 2008, 11:01 PM > Oh nne, > > That just totally STINKS! Guest guest
Thanks for much for that info, . I just hate that Dr. Boardman is moving...that is such a bummer for many, I'm sure. I won't even add my two cents about the lack of interest in vulvar problems....*sigh*Thanks again, Chelle
