We were at a regular check up with the neuro nurse yesterday (blood work, talking about how/if the MS has progressed, questions about adjusting medications, that kind of things). will be trying out a cooling vest, to see if that helps with her fatigue at all. Hopefully it will. We also learned that the 's neuro is going to a new job, he is going into teaching at medschool. That was good news too, since doesn't quite like him, and hasn't from the start. It's nothing big, it's just that they don't "click", and that she doesn't feel that he takes her problems seriously. And it was a bit funny since said that very morning, about him: "I wish he'd quit the clinic. Perhaps he could start working at the university instead"... And, yes, we remembered to bring up the swallowing issues. didn't want to schedule the suggested radiologist appointment to investigate it further, though. She doesn't feel it's quite a that big problem yet. And that is her call to make, of course. That's about it MS-wise I think. Other things: We went to IKEA last Saturday, to get the shelves with drawers for our kitchen. And we had planned to get a shelf to put above the TV too, and a door for one of the bookcases in the living room. That didn't happen though, we realized at the store that we hadn't taken measurements for the above the TV shelf... And we couldn't decide on weather to go with an oak door or a glass one.... BUT we did get the kitchen shelves. And we of course picked up a few other things we hadn't planned on as well, it is IKEA after all. seldom leaves the IKEA store without a soft toy, and she didn't this time either, she got two of these http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50145473 one white and one grey. I, on the other hand, have a problem passing the candlestick department without being tempted to pick up one or two, this time I got two glass ones http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90152094 We all have our weaknesses, right... ; ) And then we bought one lamp, and batteries. But other than that we practiced temperance...Well, other than maybe in the food department... We had lunch at the IKEA restaurant, and I ordered meatballs. I figured "I am hungry. Better go with the large serving", and so I did. But I was a bit confused to see the plate being filled up with a mountain of meatballs and sauce, but nothing else. So I asked: "Isn't that supposed to come with potatoes". The answer I got was: "It does come with potatoes. You'll have to get a second plate for them however, can't fit them and the large serving of meatballs on the same plate"... I suppose a medium serving would have done just fine, after all... love/Reb>> Okay everyone! Time for an update. How are you? What are you doing to stay > busy? What TV shows do you watch? Glad is going to get a new neuro that hopefully is more to her liking. Love what you got at IKEA. I imagine you have a much larger selection of products than we do here in Canada. My daughter went crazy in Toronto and she's a real IKEA fanatic. I just never knew IKEA's had restaurants and those meatballs sound yummy! ... hugs, Cait
