Guest guest
Greetings all, I wanted to share a new 3-minute video with you. In light of the recent media coverage regarding the parents whom, during a time of desperation, left their child with autism at a local hospital, WSVN’s Carmel on the Case produced news story airing today on the importance of connecting with 2-1-1; particularly on how this helpline assists special needs families in Broward. Desperately in need of financial help with their mortgage this family also had employment challenges, needed help in applying for the APD crisis tool, and was in need of behavioral services for her son. One simple call to the 2-1-1 Special Needs Hotline could have explained what services were available and explored what resources they could utilize. If you, or someone you know, is facing a financial crisis, is in need of services, or just does not know where to go, please give 2-1-1 or a call and ask for the Special Needs Hotline Counselor. Here is link to the referenced WSVN video: http://www.wsvn.com/features/articles/carmelcase/MI92504/ Thank you for your time and much appreciation goes out to all the parents and caregivers who have reached out for help --if not to us, to someone for support. With your help in spreading the word about 2-1-1, we hope to continue to touch more lives in order to keep us all connected. Sincerely, Billie , MSBehavioral Health and Special Needs Manager24/7 Helpline: or dial 2-1-1 Special Needs website: www.211-broward.org/specialneeds.htm
