Guest guest
I've been reading alot about adrenals lately and from what I can tell, once adrenals are properly supported, asthma attacks tend to decrease.Give it a google. -Tammy To: mb12valtrex Sent: Saturday, December 24, 2011 8:16 AM Subject: Asthma in children... Guest guest
Its true. Proven by the fact that cortisol gives relief in asthma. Superficially the reason is that cortisol is immuno-suppresant and inasthma immune is overly active. But my own approach is different, wider and natural (yet scientific). For example I will strengthen the adrenals (cortisol is produced in the adrenal cortes (adrenalin is produced in adrenal medulla) withvitamin B5 and butter (if not allergic to it). Its from cholesterol that all the hormones are made except the thyroid's and melatonin. Some Ayurvedic herbs also do the same. I will also attend to gut dysbiosis and increase the cellular glutathione.Above all milk and all dairy should be stopped.Ratan.---------------Ratan Singh, Phone: 91 141 2652561, mail: ratanpsych@...- Certificate in Food & Nutrition; Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education; Life Member, Nutrition Soc. of India; Member ISOM- Author of "Nutrition & Supplements in Major Mental Illnesses";- M.A. (Psychol), Postgraduate Diploma in Medical & Social Psychology, Ph.D.;- Certified Behavior Therapist (from late Prof. J. Guest guest
Biotin, and a low oxalate diet. Oxalate can impair the CFTR enzyme (which is the cystic fibrosis enzyme that is defective in those with full blown Cystic Fibrosis disease) and that enzyme impairment is why those with CF have breathing troubles, among other things. Biotin dependent enzymes are screwed up with oxalate intake as well. You cannot avoid oxalate completely (it is not like going gluten free, it is more like counting calories) Â Does anyone have any suggestions for supplements for kids with asthma? My little guy is having a rough time lately. Guest guest
We have stopped dairy and as a matter of fact, his past two severe flares were preceded by a combination of airborne allergen & dairy infraction and infection & dairy infraction. He tests negative on IgE for dairy but severe on IgG. It seems when his immune system is down, he will have a severe reaction (eczema and asthma) to a any dairy. How much B5 and how much Biotin would you recommend for a child weighing 65 pounds? Is glutathione cream sufficient to boost the glutathione? Thank you all for your time and advice. Much appreciated :-}
Guest guest
Biotin- start at 300 mcg (micrograms) and go up. It's supposed to help control yeast too, but you can get die off. There are people on the low oxalate diet list taking 80 MG (yes milligrams) and the only precaution is that it can constipate. So if that is a problem, add magnesium citrate first. Miralax turns to oxalate so using biotin and then turning around and using miralax would defeat the purpose. :-)Â My kids take 15 MG a day or biotin, and lots of magnesium. They are both abt 45 lbs... Guest guest
Microscopic roundworm (ascaris) is very much associated with Asthma. Google 'ascaris asthma' and you will be amazed at the references that pop up. Ascaris is also associated with eosinophilic dosorder- which results in leaky gut. Both are diseases of overactive mast cells, and/or too many mast cells. In our experience, once we treated for roundworms (we have used just wormwood first, emptying capsules in rice syrup so they could be tolerated, then Humaworm at a later age, doing the same or taking the whole capsules as our daughter became able), asthma symptoms in myself and my Asperger's daughter greatly reduced. They return with roundworm reproduction episodes. We follow this doing daily stool samples, and the relationship is very direct. We also do phlegm testing, as ascaris spend part of their life cycle in the lungs. We regularly find ascaris in the lungs. -Less so now that we are regularly treating. In addition to the great management advice others are giving (adrenals are greatly affected by increased mast cell degranulation as the mast cells release excitatory neurotransmitters- - also, oxalates irritate leaky vessels caused by the release of vasoconstricting histamine by the mast cells, AND aggravate parasites, causing them to release waste products which increase the body's eliminative load), please, I can't emphasize enough, look for a gentle broad spectrum natural dewormer that you are comfortable with and treat regularly, at least 3 times a year. We have been very happy with Humaworm. (find online) In our experience, pharmaceuticals did not touch roundworm infestation. Also, zinc deficiency is proven as a cause of parasitic infection. We are getting a handle on parasites now by increasing daily zinc. A person may be zinc deficient from KPU, so this may be another avenue to research. > > > Its true.
