Guest guest
Hello everyone, just want some feedback. My son was very constipated, not being able to go to the bathroom for a whole week.I started giving him activia and that showed some results. A dan physician suggested we give him calcium and magnesium along with probiotics and powder fiber, however the fiber didnt work so i stopped. The problem is that now my son poops diarrhea, i mean water and it seems like there r seeds, its weird. Its not formed poop. He was pooping better with the activia. anyone has advice or has experienced this? sorry for the nasty topic
Guest guest
I am not a doctor but....Just from what I read, I would recommend a gastroenterologist to help with the problem. The intestinal track is such a fragile environment for some of our kids that it really takes an expert to really get to the root of the problem. I am sure that some of the readers and professionals on this website can direct you to a doctor within your area. I hope he feels better soon! Bowel movements Hello everyone, just want some feedback. Guest guest
We were able to manage our son's severe gastrointestinal issues through the help of Dr. Udell (a developmental pediatrician who has his practice in Weston) and Dr. Muinos, a pediatric gastroenterologist from Miami Children's Hospital. Through their guidance, our son's quality of life improved immensely. The downside: Dr. Udell does not take insurance, and the wait at Dr. Muinos' office can be long. What is worth it about both doctors is their knowledge of ASD issues. As for a pediatrician practice, we take our son to One Source Pediatrics in Weston and they do accept Medicaid. Their phone number is: . Dr. Clemente is great with children on the spectrum. She's been my son's pediatrician for five years. Hope this helps. > > > > > > > I will for sure call her. Guest guest
I've been giving my son miralax (or generic) for about a year. I put it in his water bottle and because it's tasteless - it's perfect. It can go in anything. But if you are lucky like me your child drinks lots of water which of course is great for the system and way better than soda or juice. now he can poop on request and i've got to think way more comfortable not being constipated. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I will for sure call her. Guest guest
We are on our third and final DAN Dr. The first two were not so great, but the third time was a charm. Biomedicone has made a huge difference for my son. You may just have to do the DAN Dr. tour until you find the right fit. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Dr. Udell for whatever that is worth. Good luck to you and make sure you keep copies of every test you have run so if you need to find a different DAN Dr. you do not have to repeat expensive tests. Guest guest
I too had the same experiences with my little boy until we went on a strict gluten free casein free diet. Even after the dietary changes it took a few months to get his GI tract in working order. He had chronic diarhrea which then turned into constipation. But now he has perfect poops, regular as the tides, and doing great, but NONE of this progress would have been if we possible if we hadn't first put him on a GFCF diet, and then second get the bacteria and yeast in his gut cleared up. Guest guest
Healing your sons gut is extemely imporant for his functioning. My daughter had chronic diarriah and I used the GF/CF diet, digestive enzymes, very potent probiotics and anti-fungels. Activia has dairy, eliminate ALL dairy in any form and you will see that over time it will improve and so will he, however this is a long term treatment, not something you do for a month or two. Good luck!
