Guest guest
I am newly diagnosed and want to get a second opinion on everything for my peace of mind. I am considering goint ot Mayo Clinic and was hoping someone might know who is the PSC specialist there? This disease makes me so tired. Any meds for the exhaustion??? I stopped all coffee and soda and am trying to drink lots of water. Just so tired.. Thanks
Guest guest
I see that you found the message board that I was talking about, I wasn't sure that I could mention the name on the other board. This board has been a great source of information for me, I hope that it will be for you too. I know that it's easy for me to say but trust me from someone that has been there, try not to think the worst. As you will see on this board people really can lead " normal " (whatever that is LOL) lives with this disease. Also keep in mind that just like on the Crohns board, most of us tend to post most often when things aren't going quite as well as we would like. Guest guest
I don't go to Mayo but I think the MN one is where Dr. Lindor is. I know he is a PBC guru of sorts and I think he treats PSC as well. You can call and ask to speak with someone in his office. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi -- I see Dr. Gores at Mayo. He specializes in PSC, and I'm going out there for my semi-annual visit the first week of November. You're right that the fatigue can be debilitating. I find that green tea (either with or without caffeine), along with plenty of water, helps keep me going. My fatigue is worst when I'm not constantly pushing fluids. It's a pain to have a water bottle with me all the time, but at least I can still work and feel somewhat productive. Hope this helps.
