Guest guest
For several years I could barely go down the grocery aisle with soaps & laundry detergents - it was totally overpowering. Since I haven't had a transplant, perhaps this is PSC related. It's not so bad now though. -----Original Message-----I have heard and read few years back, that the sense of smell might be altered [i do not remember the rate]at the latest stages of liver disease. Ken’s sense of smell was never an issue before transplant, it was totally normal. Since the transplant, he has “super sniffing powers”. The other day, he came in and said “You washed clothes”, I had – almost 4 hours before he came! The clothes were washed, dried, and put away, but he still smelled the soap. He doesn’t have any nausea with it, it’s just something new to him. With love, Barb in Texas - Together in the Fight, Whatever it Takes! Guest guest
Barbra, It is good to know that Ken's sense of smell was never an issue prior to transplant. I use to worry that i might loose it, one day. I am so glad that Ken is doing much better. Marie, I am like that now. Actually i am more like Ken. " super sniffing powers " ! Specially, detergents. Smoking, too. Sometimes it does get out of hand. But don't forget that it can be beneficial at times, too! So i do wonder sometimes, what will it be like for me after transplant!
