Chuck's b/p is still too high. We go to the dr Monday. I think they are going to have to switch his b/p medicine around. Other than that hes not doing too bad MS wise. Sometimes he has a little trouble with his walking but for the most part does pretty good.

We can't get my blood glucose under 156 so I am sure Doc will be adding something different or switching me to insulin. Oh well, could be worse.

I'm here! ...though not a happy camper. I don't know if I mentioned this here or not (bloody memory!), but I can't get on any of the CRAB drugs--because I can't walk, healthcare will not pay for them...soooo it seems we are now in a game of catch-22. I posted a video about my situation last week:

Other than that, I went to find a book I wanted, and bought some yummy cream puffs from the Chineese supermarket. A friend invited me to a hockey game tomorrow and I think I'll have to cancel...homecare is understaffed this weekend so no one to get me up and dressed tomorrow...so goes...

,

I watched the video and am so sorry you are having to deal with all of this.I hope you are able to get the help you need. You are in my prayers. I was on chemo for 6 mo and had no problems at all. I would think what you would get would be a lesser dose than anyone that is on it for cancer.

I'm okay, except getting really frustrated with trying to get a dog that can be a Service Dog for me. I went to see my Independent Living Specialist yesterday. She understands why I want a dog. For it to be able to mitigate my disabilities, the most important thing for it to do is help me with balance. She said that she would be willing to write a letter to the housing director. But, every time I find a dog, through the shelter or a rescue, the housing office always says no dogs allowed. I found a dog which I had visited at the shelter several days in a row. He walked right at my side, which to me is important. When he sensed that I was starting to get wobbly, he would stop and if necessary, he would push his body against my legs to try and counter the wobblies. When I walked, he walked; when I

stopped, he would stop. The shelter volunteers had him at the Farmers Market two weeks ago and he was adopted right from the Market. The waiting list for an agency trained service dog is quite long: 6-8 years or more in some cases. Many disabled people are training their own service dogs. I have the books which are supposed to help me with owner training my own dog. But, for the housing to waive the no dogs policy, I think the dog needs to at least be partially trained, in my case, trained to walk at my side, in order to be classified as a Service Dog. Housing has me on a Community Service exemption due to being disabled. So why is it necessary to have a note saying that I'm disabled? Nick is now taking a medication called Amitriptyline. It's supposed to help him sleep. So, now he takes Protonix, Zoloft, Amitriptyline, and Ativan. The Ativan is a prn

medication. It's ordered for every 6 hours as needed for anxiety. Most of the time, he only has to take 2 tablets, during the day. But, there have been times when he's had to take 3.Marcus still doesn't ride in the car. He is going to school 1 hour every day, unless his teacher cancels the class. Marcus has a diploma driven IEP in place. It seems to me that it should be coming up for renewal soon. Marcus rides his bike instead of riding in the car.Donna in WA

Well the weekend went too fast, and now its just me and the dust bunnies until Steve gets home from work. We had a house full on Sat. to celebrate Skylars 9th b-day [which was in Sept.], and we had our last barbeque of beefburgers, hotdogs, and turkey burgers. Potato salad, chips, green salad, olives, etc. etc......cupcakes for the kids. [will post pics when I download them] The house was filled with noise, especially with a football game going on in the front room, and my son in his usual booming voice cheering his team on. He grabbed his nephew Christian and sat him on the couch next to him to teach him all about the game. [he's 20 mo's now] lol...it was so cute when a touchdown was made my son yelled and clapped and Christian clapped just as hard. Don't think his dad was very pleased as he doesn't like any sports, but Christian is so active

he will probably be involved in some sport as he gets older.

The wimim folk were in the kitchen yaking up a storm, and getting caught up on all the latest. Its been awhile since we all got together. So to say I was pooped when everyone left is understating it, but at the same time as usual I went thru my withdrawals of having a house full like the good old days, and then empty. :-) :-(

Sunday was quiet, with TV church, and just Steve and I, I haven't been sleeping very well lately so I caught a few cat naps here and there.

Now its Monday, and I'm still tired, but miss the hubbub of having people around.

I think the thing that frustrates me the most about about being ill is how its cut into my social life. Every thing is determined on how I am feeling, and if I can handle the noise. The rare times now that it does happen I cherish as much as I can, and hope next time will come sooner.

Thats it for me.....time to try and catch up on some e-mails now. :-)

Hugs and Love, Jackie

May the peace of God be with you...the love of Jesus enfold you...and the Spirit of Christ fill you.

nne,

I hope they are able to get Chucks BP more stabilized. I am suffering from borderline high bp, but not enough that the doc wants to give me anything for it, at only 35 yrs old , I guess.

Good luck on your glucose!!!!
