Guest guest
Hi all, I just discovered this group. I strongly suspect that I have a thyroid problem and read that VIRGIN coconut oil is great for the body; hence I am here. I will mostly read as I am not as hardcore into eating all my food raw/uncooked (especially meat....yuck!) But I guess some of you are more evolved : ).......but I am making a conscientous effort to increase the raw, live foods into my diet. Dennis, I do not know what you are taking supplement wise BUT I just started taking " Alpha Lipoic Acid " (100mg) and it really makes you jump up & feel alert. It is renowned for stimulating the brain. I used to feel foggy/brain cloud a lot. This has helped. You can get it cheap online at Nutri-Meds.com. I am also taking Aceytl L-Caritine (1000 mg) and Thyroid & Adrenal Granulars, Enzyme supplments for helping to digest the dead food I eat, etc. I hope this is helpful (Again, I don't know the tenets entirely behind this philosophy yet) ****************************************************** Now, Questions for ANYONE HERE with " Coconut Oil " experience, Last digest asked a question that went unanswered (unless I did not get the response for some reason) Since I also was interested in hearing the response to the questions she posed, I am copying the essence of it down here, in the hope that someone will answer : ) ....... 1. Please comment if heated, does VIRGIN coconut oil go rancid? 2. Must it always be used cold (kept cold) or is storing it at room temp okay? 3. Is heating it up to cook with it okay? (Keeping in mind I will NOT be eating all raw or raw meat anytime soon but I want to retain the benefits of the coconut oil in my body) 4. Also, does it go rancid? MUST it be refrigerated? 5. How long is its shelf-life? e.g., Does it go rancid after a certain period on the shelf? Thanks ahead of time for imparting your wisdom, __________________________________________________
