Guest guest
Arline, Thanks for the fast response. I think all of your ideas are great. I have been going pantiless on most occasions now for over a month. It is less irritating. After my post last night I got onto the links and looked at the photo section. Believe it or not, I look a lot like the " jock itch " photo. If I remember correctly, I think I read that if you don't rub in the steroid very well yeast can grow, like jock itch. I put miconazole on externally last night and this morning. I'm sure time will tell if I'm on to something or not. As far as the hyperplasia, I think you gave me some great ideas, thanks. I am allergic to Benadryl, which I know you can take pregnant. I'll talk to the doc about other alternatives. I have already switched my laundry soap to All Free and Clear with a double rinse. The food thing is a good idea I haven't tried though. I may have hyperplasia and ??? going on at the same time. Who really knows right now. All I know is I am beginning to get desperate for some relief. I'll keep you posted. Squamous cell hyperplasia is not a distinct entity, it is only a description of a morphologic alteration of vulvar skin. " > > That seems to me to mean that what you have is the result of chronic irritation and not a specific disease or condition which also means to me that maybe you can find the cause of it. > > What makes you think it isn't yeast? (tests? culture? doc said it wasn't??). I wonder if you mixed some apply cider vinegar with water on a wash cloth an useng it on the redness of the thigh area as an experiment to see if it helps is a good idea. It it stops any itching or the redness goes away you will have a clue that it is yeast. I don't think you should use this on the vulvar skin at this point though. In fact using anything on the vulvar skin doesn't sound good to me--especially steroid creams that haven't made it any better. > > Make sure that you don't have any elastic like in your panties around the legs next to this part of your body and wearing no underwear at all might be a good idea. > > I wonder about antihistamines but since you are pregnant that may not be such a great idea. Ask the doc. Maybe find a different doc. > > It might be a good time to really clean up your diet and specifically not eating any of the major allergen foods which are-- dairy, grains of any kind, eggs, soy, baker's or brewer's yeast, monosodium glutamate (a nasty flavoring put in Chinese foods, restaurant food, and processed foods, and see if it has any effect. > > Something causes this. Look into finding out what and although finding another doc might help you in some ways, I think your being a detective about what is causing this massive irritation wculd be pretty valuable. I think allergists for food sensitivies are completely hopeless. (my opinion). > > Just saying. > > Arline
