Guest guest
Hi there,I just sent in some info I found from the NVA about Botox injections for vulvodynia. I think one of women on here has had the injections before...If I find anything else...I'll pass it on. hang in there... ~Chelle
Guest guest
I had two Botox injections into my pelvic floor muscles for vulvodynia. The first one helped, the second didn't. I had no incontinence or retention issues. To be honest, it really wasn't a dramatic change at all. It took over two weeks for me feel a benefit from the first one, and I had to be really aggressive about physical therapy to get any benefit at all. Right after the injection, i felt maybe slightly feverish, but not enough to justify not going into work. Little bruising at injections site, but no swelling. It's a extremely small amount of the toxin, and keep in mind that its dosage is meant for wrinkles, which are tiny tiny tiny spasms in your face. By comparison, pelvic floor muscles are enormous. My doctor has mentioned that there's even some buzz about beginning to do multiple doses at once. > > Subject: botox injections in pelvic muscles > To: VulvarDisorders > Date: Thursday, July 24, 2008, 1:16 PM > Hi, i am really confused and wondering if there is anyone > out there > that has experience with these that knows about this. Guest guest
I had it done on my pelvic muscles and it did not help any but that is because i had the vestibulitis and couldn't get past the opening to really feel if the muscles were loser. they didn't realize that i had the vestibulitis and thought it was just vaginismus so they tried it. i had no problems from the injections, just that it did not work. i am sure you could have problems if they injected the wrong place like the bladder, hopefully not though! insurance did not cover it since they said that botox is for asthetics not medically necessary, lol! what a laugh, that is what i wanted...a pretty vagina! geesh these companies! good luck with it if you do it! > > Hi, i am really confused and wondering if there is anyone out there > that has experience with these that knows about this.
