Guest guest
Well, my 5 yo Asperger's daughter is starting that behavior, too. She's small enough that when she swims, which is 5x a day in summer, i play games to get shampoo and soap on her. HOWEVER, she's been refusing to brush her teeth for a week. What should I do? She's had alot of dental work but states her teeth don't hurt. I didn't know this could be a common issue. Khat

Guest guest
My daughter developed an aversion to soap at around 3 years old; she's now a teen and still hates the sensation of soap. She barely uses soap when she washes her hands, and if I don't wash her hair for her, it looks just as bad when she comes out of the shower as it did when she went in. Years of occupational therapy helped with other sensory issues, but we never specifically addressed the soap problem. Now I realize I should have asked her OT for ideas.
