Guest guest
, I have had relentless nausea/vomiting for about a year now. The tx team seems to be at a loss as to why I have nausea to the degree that I do. I was given Zofran 4.mg. and when I asked for 8 mg. tabs he said, "No, if you're that sick we need to know why." After much investigation, we still do not know why. However, against his advice (the GI) I take Zofran 4 mg, every 2-6 hours. I've discussed this with my endoscopist, too, and he is surprised by it, but does believe that it is due to PSC. He knows that PSC can be so diverse and feels that although the degree of nausea that I experience is not *typical* it's most like due to my failing liver. However, having said all of that my nausea doesn't seem to have as much rhyme or reason as Fred's. It doesn't matter if I'm standing, or sitting, or walking, nor if I'm hungry or just eaten, etc. So, we may be talking about two different sources. Here's to a foolproof solution for Fred's nausea! (clink, clink) Hugs, P.S. I'll be returning to CCF on 10/30. See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
Guest guest
Hi Mel- Glad to see you on " board! " Yes I was thinking about your relentless nausea and even asked the doc if nausea was a PSC side effect. He said " no. " I don't buy it anymore than you do. I think PSC can do just about anything depending on the patient's own weaknesses/susceptibility to various other physical problems. So you'll be back in Cleveland right about the time the World Series is happening! (I'm a former Clevelander and my family is bombarding me with " Indian Fever " updates since they're in the postseason.) I've got to go to your CaringBridge page and read your newsy update... Love you lots Mel - hope the CCF teams can make some headway with you...like I told Meghan - always colors outside the lines when it comes to her PSC!
