Guest guest
Hi, I'll let someone else answer about using the steroid cream, but I just wanted to say that my symptoms sound a lot like yours. I have burning and itching that also began around the same time that I began having symptoms of menopause. I also think that my problem is probably hormonal. It's like once my hormone levels changed, my body just went haywire. I'm taking bio-identical hormones, and I notice that the progesterone also gives me anxiety. I'm sure the other ladies will chime in with advice. Kathy
Guest guest
Hi Kathy, thanks for the reply. Did the bio-identical hormones help with your itching/burning? Are they topical? Which ones are you using? Thanks, KC > > Hi, I'll let someone else answer about using the steroid cream, but I > just wanted to say that my symptoms sound a lot like yours. Guest guest
Hi Hokey (sorry I don't know your name ,Itching and burning can definitely be a sign of atrophy caused by loss of hormones. I've had that myself and I'm only 36. I'm not familiar with Cultivate Lotion...do you mind sharing what exactly that is? I'm not surprised by your response to the progesterone. Progesterone is not bad, in and of itself, it's just when it comes our female hormones...it's a delicate balance, and seems to take trial and error. I end up saying this often, but one of the best resources on female hormones is Dr. Vliet's book, "Screaming to be Heard". She has the most in depth info on female hormone and connections to other conditions I've ever read. I understand your concerns about Estriol... topical hormones have really helped my vulvar skin the most. I use the stronger estrogen - Estradiol. Look for the link to the homepage (when you scroll down this post) - click on it, when you get there, use the search box to type in Estrogen and Testosterone. You will find many past posts with good info. Hang in there... Chelle
Guest guest
Hi KC, I do think that the BI hormones have helped me with the burning and itching to a point, but I think that my main problem may be a sensitivity to yeast or possibly gluten. I'm taking sublingual (under the tongue) tablets of Estradiol, Testosterone and Progesterone. I also have E and T cream that I use topically, when I remember. Since traditional medicine hasn't been of much help to me, I'm going to see a naturopath tomorrrow. I do think that peri- menopause set this all off though.
