Guest guest
Hi: I've posted a question regarding this before but does anyone know of any support groups for PSC? I haven't found any in the hospitals, etc. And a question. If there are none, would folks (and how many) be interested in starting one in the Western Central (Athol/Gardner area) in Ma? I would bet if we could get 10-20 folks interested that we could get a local hospital or facility to let us meet maybe once a month.
Guest guest
Hello, I facilitate a PSC Support Group in CT. We meet at the American Liver Foundation Chapter office in North Haven, CT. Because PSC attendance is sparse I often combine this support group with another general Liver Disease Support Group. The next meeting is Saturday November 17th. Guest speakers are: Sukru Emre, MD, FACS, Director of the Yale-New Haven Transplantation Center who will present an "Update on Transplantation". Also, Cheryl , RN, MSN,CCRN, CPTC of the New England Organ Bank will be speaking on "Steps in Organ Donation". All are welcomed to attend. If anyone would like more information please e-mail me at: ctpsc@... Guest guest
Thanks for this information, I had no idea there was a support group in CT for PSC. I found it interesting that the guest speaker is Dr Emre. He recently left Mt Sinai, where he was Dir of Ped Liver Transplant, a hospital that was recently mentioned in some other posts. My son sees a hep and GI at Mt Sinai and I love the Ped GI. I am disturbed by the posts regarding Mt Sinai's record, but I my son is a long way from thoughts of transplant. , mother of Miles, 6, UC, Small duct PSC > > Hello, > > I facilitate a PSC Support Group in CT. Guest guest
Hi , When we send out a Constant Contact notice on this meeting I will forward it to this group. A couple of weeks ago Dr. Emre performed a pediatric split liver transplant, the first in CT.
