********Pity the poor muslims worldwide who fast for a *month* during

Ramadan. They must all be walking around sickly and with impaired livers ;)

<<<<<<

FYI, I'm a Muslim and when I tell non-Muslims that we fast for the month of

Ramadan they usually gasp and say something like " you fast for the WHOLE

month? " Actually we fast from sun up until sun down. After dark we break

our fasts and it is recommended to get up before sunrise for a small meal

before beginning that day's fast.

********Yup! but from a biological standpoint, you're going for a long

period of time without food every day for a month. so, since the liver and

other digestive organs are not working at processing food during that time,

they are, as belinda put it, 'straining to process the nasties', which would

be a lot of straining from sunup to sundown for a whole month!

your liver must be very tired ;)
