Guest guest
I use Dove sensitive soap but I only put the soap on the top of the vulva, not in the inner folds. Does that make sense? I also recommend Aveeno body wash. ** Anyone found a non-irritating, mild soap for bathing? I have not been using soap in the shower to clean my "area" because I thought it would irritate my Vulvodynia. Has anyone had any luck using a mild soap? If so, what brand? Thanks! Guest guest
I use Basis soap. About once a week. The rest of the time I use plain water. Guest guest
I use Dove Soap for Sensitive Skin. I also use a squirt bottle with distilled water to rinse after urination along with hypoallergenic toilet tissue and perfume-free Huggies wipes. And I installed a filtered showerhead in my shower. Guest guest
I like Tom's of Maine glycerin soap. They also make an unscented moisturizing soap that's nice. > > I have not been using soap in the shower to clean my " area " because I > thought it would irritate my Vulvodynia. Guest guest
Thanks for the recommendation! Yes, we use: CO Bigelow Lemon Cream Body Wash. It is great, yet expensive and last about a month with two people using it. You can get it at Bath and Body Works at the mall. It is $16 plus tax. It is all natural and you feel really clean everywhere using a safe product. I have had great luck with it. Tina. Anyone found a non-irritating, mild soap for bathing? Guest guest
My OB/GYN says " NO soap down there " Not just for us but for all her patients. I use a few very mild soaps for the outside of the area now (and use the hand held shower to get the vulva). Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild Pure Castile Soap, Auburey Organics bar soaps and Kiss My Face Olive Oil soaps are all very pure with no toxins and all natrual ingredients. I have " detoxed " my entire " body protocol " from shampoos, soaps, lotions, make up, cleaning supplies, etc. > > I have not been using soap in the shower to clean my " area " because I > thought it would irritate my Vulvodynia. Guest guest
I don't use soap in my vulvar area (haven't for years since long before I ever got vulvodynia). I use Phisoderm to wash down there and I have no problems with burning and such when using it.
