I want to try this new doctor and I live in the Baltimore

area and I am wondering if anyone has ever

been to Rene Genadry. He is in Lutherville land

He sees vulvodynia patients and I am wondering if anyone

has tired him or not. Thanks

I live in the Baltimore area and have not heard of him. I see Dr.Kamal

Hamod at Greenspring Station. He is a s Hopkins doc and

specializes in Vulvodynia and other Vulvar issues. I highly recommend

him because he takes a multidisciplinary approach to healing.

Good luck.

I haven't heard of him specifically, but I'm from the Baltimore area too and I see Marvel at the GBMC Center for Pelvic Pain. He's amazing!!! I highly recommend him.

He has all his new patients fill out a 20 page questionnaire and send in their medical history before you come in for your first appointment so he can review it all; treatments you've tried already, other diseases/conditions, surgeries, family history, comfort level, everything! When you come in for your first appointment he talks to you for a while about what's wrong and what you think about it, etc. Then you have a physical exam where he checks muscular stuff, does cultures, etc etc. He's really thorough and then he looks at stuff under the microscope and decides where to go from there in terms of tests/treatments/meds/diagnosis etc. He really helped my friend who was having recurring yeast infections and he really helped me with my pudenal neuralgia (which he diagnosed; all the other doctors thought I must have been having recurring infections or something). I am 90% pain free right now after basically being bedridden earlier this year because the pain was so bad and prevented me from really doing much of anything. He's really thorough and cares about his patients and trains other gyn's in this type of stuff (since so many gyn's don't know how to treat this type of chronic pain or what causes it). I was so happy to find Dr. Marvel; I feel like I have my life back!

Not using a PT (didn't need one) but I know there are several Dr. Marvel works with and he does prescribe PT.

Good luck, if you are seeing Dr. Hamod he will take good care of you and hopefully be able to offer some clarity to your situation. After seeing a couple of OBGYN's myself, he was the first to be able to diagnose and prescribe a treatment plan for me. Let me know if you have any other questions about him.

How well do you know Dr. Marvel? I'm from Md. Eastern Shore and was referred to him and he diagnosed me with Lichen Planus. That was well and he prescribed the suppositories for inside and Clobetasol for the exterior. That got the iching and burning under control however the clobetasol thinned the outside so bad when we had sex it tore. Then Dr. Marvel sugested the proceedure of Vulvectomy and explained they stretched skin over old and so on. Well I have never healed from that yet and the surgery was done in 2005. Nice guy but don't let him do a vulvectomy.

That sucks; I'm sorry you didn't get the help you needed. I think Dr. Marvel's specialty lies more with recurrent vaginal infections and nerve disorders than some other conditions that cause vulvodynia. Are you seeing a new doctor to help you with the side effects from the surgery?

I used to live on the Eastern Shore of MD and it took over 2 years

for me to get a doctor that even knew what my condition was. s

Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore finally diagnosed me and has some

great Gynecologists that are excellent.

Good Luck.
