Does Cytolitic Vaginitis ever go away completely?

Hello,

I've been diagnosed with CV for several months (after being diagnosed

(possibly misdiagnosed) with yeast infections for several years). I

do occasional baking soda sitz baths, which help with the symptoms,

but I've yet to have complete resolution from this problem. For the

past 3 months, my doctors have had me first on an ayurvedic diet, and

now an allergy elimination diet to see if I might have an underlying

food allergy. The current diet seems to help, I've completely cut out

alcohol, refined sugar, caffeine, wheat, corn, dairy, eggs, food

additives, basically anything fun to consume, but I'm still having

some mild CV symptoms (some vaginal itching, entry dyspurunia, some

discharge). I'm now in the food testing stage of the diet, so

hopefully that will provide some answers.

Anyhow, I'm just curious if any of you are dealing with CV and if any

of you have recovered from CV, or if this is problem that I'll be

dealing with for the rest of my life. I'm sort of resigned to the

fact that I'll probably never be able to consume alcohol, sugar, etc.

But I'm curious if I'll have to do baking sitz baths forever and if

the dyspurunia will ever resolve...

Thanks for your insight,

~Charmaine

I've had CV as I went on the yeast/bv cycle, then I would "overkill" and get CV. I am much better now and as one ofm y docs told me, "NOTHING lasts forever."

Hang in there! Sounds like you're doing a lot right.
