Guest guest
Hi Duaine I had a similar experience. It was called an " Atheists and Agnostics (Appendix II) " meeting and was basically about stopping being an athesit or an agnostic. Also there was my sponsor who insisted on knee bending and certainly didnt talk like the athesit he claimed to be. Hi Duiane, Then there are the groups who push the higher power thing(god). Say they believe - but don't. I mean some of these people could win an oscar for their performance. Either way, the main purpose is to have **you** 'believe'. Any belief, in any thing - god, the group, them, the 'doornob'. Once that's acheived, the scheming can continue. It's a higher 'power' thing alright - and they want it. And its not just in aa either. These people 'tweek' for power. netty
Guest guest
Hi and Welcome to the group. Lots of motivation in thsi group so you came to the right place. Guest guest
Hi Kandi and welcome to the group. Glad you have found the motivation to start making healthier changes in your life. One thing you might want to start doing is try eating at least three meals a day instead of one. 6 smaller ones is even better I think. This should help in the energy department and stabalize your matabolism. Both of which are going to help you lose weight. More energy to exercise and a faster moving metabolism to burn calories. There are some great post and articles you might want to go back and read some of the older post. Gena post alot of really helpfull and imformational articles. Take care, Rhonda > Hi! Guest guest
OK Ronni, we have a problem. See how you say exercising is hopeless, and mention that you only did your WATP tapes 3x, partway through?? Well, I haven't so much as taken the cellophane off MY exercise tapes, which on your scale makes me LESS than hopeless. And I'm not accepting that. =+) So, how about we shake hands, I welcome you to the group, and we agree that we are both " having difficulties establishing an effective and lasting exercise routine " ??? =+) Hey, it should have at least got a giggle! Now, do you want to hear what we do with " Negative Nellies " around here, or do you promise that upon reading this email, you will commit to drinking an eight- ounce glass of water today. The others will tell you, I'm tough. =+) So I insist you start this lifestyle change at a pace you can deal with, today's assignment for you being that eight-ounce glass of water. Deal? =+) (((hugs))) And if that doesn't work, we'll show you a picture of a puppy with big sad eyes, to get you to drink that glass of water. Catalina > Hi, I'm Ronni and I'm 39 yrs old. Guest guest
Hi Ronnie and welcome to the loop. You want support? You got support. We are all in the same boat and trying our best to find the oars. Down to 232 from 267 is certainly a step in the right direction and no small feat, so now let's get serious and get that weight off! You can do it. You've lost already and you can lose again. Hope to see more of your posts and hear more about you. Pat > Hi, I'm Ronni and I'm 39 yrs old. Guest guest
Hi Ronni, just wanted to say welcome to the group. My name is Leanne and I am 46yrs old, married with four kids (young adults) and have a weight problem. But in the last two years I have lost 47kg (100+lbs). I think you have to be in the right frame of mind to lose weight and you will get there. I lost the weight with weight watchers but find what works for you and work it. In my opinion and I think some people agree, you have to make lifestyle changes, track your food intake and find a heap of support. Oh and exercise of course. Take care and have a great day! Oh and I am a grandma now!!!!!!!!!! My little grandson was born last wednesday and my head is still up in the clouds. I was there for the birth and took heaps of photo's. He is just soooooo beautiful! He comes out of hospital today. His name is Taibyn, I know, weird name but it will grow on us. Anyway take care................Leanne Ronni Hohn cinderella150_6969@...> wrote: Hi, I'm Ronni and I'm 39 yrs old. I'm single and I'm a nurse. I'm no longer working. Guest guest
Hi and welcome to the group. You will find lots of support and encouragement here. It's been a real blessing for me. You say you're originally from Tennessee, where abouts? I have relatives on both my parents side still living in Lenoir City, TN, just south of Knoxville. I currently live in the interior of Alaska. My children are grown but I do have a furchild (golden retriever), Lily. I too have been yo, yoing for years. Congratulations on losing the 50 lbs. At least you don't have to start over from scratch! It's good that you've gotten a hold of it now before you wound up back at your original weight. You can do it. We are here to help you in any way that we can. Hope to hear more from you. Guest guest
Welcome to the group ! I am a little suprised a doctor put you on a diet of 1200 cals. That is very low. Since you are exercising you really should up the cals. One reason for yo yo dieting is when you drop cals to low the body goes into starvation mode and you start storing fat easily. There are alot of calorie calculators out there. Basicly you want to figure out how many cals your body needs for your weight and acticity level and reduce it by 500-1000. You might see slower results this way but in the long run you won't see them pounds again!! Basic formula is 500 cal reduction you would see on average 1 pound loss a week and with 1000 cal reduction a 2 pound loss which is the max you should healthily loose in a weeks time. Guest guest
Welcome, Diane. If you read back posts you will find that you are not alone. One good thing tho, is that you've caught yourself before going completely over the edge and gaining it *all* back like a lot of us have. Now is a good time to start again and get on track. We are here to listen, encourage, and care, but of course it's up to you how you take charge again. I look forward to hearing more from you. Pat > Hello everyone > I am new here. Guest guest
Welcome Diane... I know it is extremely hard keeping to your goal when life has so many road-blocks but I think you have made the right decision to join and get yourself back on track. Hope to here from you real soon. Diane austin34@...> wrote: Hello everyone I am new here. My name is Diane I am 41 years old. 3 years ago in January I started my weight loss journey. I lost 78lbs. I followed the food mover, because I found it easy. I exercised, my motivation was good. About 6 months ago, things fell apart. I have gained back 28lbs. I am miserable and I can't figure out what happened. However I am determined not to give up. Guest guest
Welcome to the group, Diane. I certainly hope you don't give up & can lose those 28 lbs. again (or more!). I don't think there's anything more frustrating than to have that scale come creeping back up on you again after all the hard work of getting those pounds off. My weight now is at an all-time high (except when I was pregnant) and the last 10-15 lbs. have come just since I weaned my youngest in September. Aaargh! Anyway, I hope you can get the support you need and maybe give some back to the group. Nice to have you aboard & I look forward to hearing of your future weight loss success! - Eva
